Trich Contam - Should I Throw Away the Whole Jar?

Hey everyone,



Today I dunked four pint jars of wbs, fully colonized with cubensis. Unfortunately, one of the pints had some trich in it. I've attached a pic so you can see the magnitude of the contam, its probably about 25-30% trich. I scooped out the big chunks after I took the picture. I didn't want to sacrifice the whole jar so I went ahead and put this one jars worth of dunked-grain-spawn into a 6qt shoebox tub with coir/verm/gypsum in the appropriate ratio. I figured there is a chance that the cube mycelium will overpower the trich with the help of the coir. It smells like trich and its bothering me, and i'm worried about the trich contaminating the other tubs I spawned to because they are all in the same closet. Should I just throw away this whole shoebox? Is any amount of trich a death sentence? Any wisdom is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Yes get rid of it immediately. Trich can contam your whole grow, plus...its not healthy for people. Even if you manage to produce fruits from a contamned substrate they aren't safe to eat or give to people. There are people with penicillin allergies who have gone into anaphylactic shock from this. Don't mess around.

Trich = Lion
Cubenis = Sheep

The trich literally eats the cubensis culture, and the cubes don't stand a chance. Don't waste your time, throw that away right now. It is a 100% lost cause, total failure.
