The casing the pics came from would not fruit. They displayed heavy casing colonization and stromatization. The pics you see were taken nearly two months after casing, still no fruits. About a month after casing, the casing survived 100 F+ temps. The current growths you see have continued for about a month now. Similar growth did exist before the casing was submitted to such high temps.

This particular picture shows the heavy stromatization after growing through 1/2-3/4 inches of casing.



These are the current pics.









The underlying mycelial growth is extremely heavy and still apears healthy. I consider the growths to be stroma. They were extremely hard to pull apart and are very dense.

Ahh, those pictures are better. Still almost looks like a puffball to me. I have had Koh Samoui do something similar, but usually had cap color to it. I would call it Cubensis Sclerotia (at least it is close). Very interesting Joshua...

That's where reports about cubensis sclerotia come from.
