 First Monotub - is this ok?

I have 5qts grain spawn and a batch of coir/verm substrate mixed up in a monotub with a liner. Right now the liner is folded over the surface and I am wondering:
Is it OK during spawn run/colonization to have a sheet of plastic over the surface?
Is it better to take the trash bag liner and trim it back so the surface gets more air?
(the whole thing is in a typical 66qt monotub with 6 polyfilled holes.)

Why do you wanna put a sheet of plastic over it? Just restricts GE and FAE

I just have the liner folded over. I thought you want to minimize fae during colonization. I had some dubtubs fruit before colonizing and I thought it might be because too much oxygen available. I will just trim the liner when I get home if that's not nessisary.

NO you don't want to restrict air flow to much. You want gas exchange to occur. TRIM that plastic, it can fuck this up.
