So.. I have the evil green one moving in on this tub of KSSS. I took it outside and set it in the sunlight. It's 60 degrees outside. I poured salt over the green area.. Cause I had to do something! lol I considered flames/fire.. I want to get something out of this little box.
It's literally in a cake pan with a clear dome over it. I had it on the coffee table as a live-action floral (fungal) arrangement. It was going to be so cool! lol
Here are some pics:
Do I wait till tomorrow to see what I can get from it? Or burn that mofokr!!
What do I need to know or be concerned with? If I do get something from it and then I use the dehydrator on them is that going to blow bad spores all over the place?

20lbs of fresh mushrooms would suck to try to make tea out of haha. I think it was just so overloaded. My wife snuck out of work to go home and check on them. She had a lot of excitement in her voice when she said they are good now. What a relief.
TXBD: if it's outside, just let them go. Dehydrate like normal. Trash the sub when done

I had some green mold before the first flush of one of my shoeboxes and ended up getting rid of it. I took my 70/30 iso mix and very carefully sprayed it on the contaminated area. I then took a spoon, sprayed it with my iso mix and very carefully scooped not only the area with mold but about 1/4” around it as well. That lead to a little more mold on one scoop and I repeated the process until the mold was no longer visible. Ended up fruiting the first flush without any contamination.
Just something I tried by the seat of my pants because like you I didn’t want to trash a SB right as it started to fruit.

That's pretty cool, does the timer work even if your phone isn't in bluetooth range?

I got a spore syringe from our sponsors recently, I injected 1 drop of spores into all of these petridishes, the tops got dirty because bottoms of petri dishes were touching the antimicrobial soap, the insides are clean, the dishes are clean there is no infections at all, had them sitting for 5 days before I inoculated them. I sterilized the syringe by wiping needle with iso and then flamed tip, I injected a lot of spores into the first petri because I knew I had to cool needle, then I did all other 7 dishes more or less 1 drop each. Only 1 of the dishes showed reaction to it, it's been 5 or 6 days since, 2 days since I noticed that one actually has growth. What could be the reason for the other 7 not doing anything. Can spores germinate for this long?
How long should I wait before squirting a bit more spores on them or should I just pour more dishes?
Does the one that has growth at least look clean?
This is my first MS attempt and I'm kinda nervous because cloning the fruits from a growbox I bought seems to have a bad issue of senescence.

My Ps. Cyanescens and Honduras MS’s did the same thing. Even after I shook up the Cyanescens a big glob of spores came out on my first dish and a bunch were stuck in the cap. Not sure if it was old or what. Then it took 10-12 days before showing any growth, weak growth at that, while I was on my 2nd transfer on the plates inoculated with prints. Personally I’ve tried 3 MS and they were all slow. All I use are prints now.

Picked up some wood pellets made for BBQ that’s a mix of maple, hickory and apple. Would these be good for spawning my wood lovers and if so, what do I need to do. Did a search but I didn’t see anything recent.
Thanks in advance!

I've used those Traeger BBQ pellets for Lion's Mane and Reishi without problems. If they're hardwood, you're good. No clue if you're talking about gourmet/medicinal, though. If you're going for azurescens/cyanescens, no, that's not going to do anything.

Thanks Stare,
For wood loving medicinals. Any recommendations for spawning material. They turn oats and rye berries into mush once you transfer to sub.

I have a humidifier/mister into my sgfc how often should it be on and does this benefit the fruiting process?

Yeah, I also don't know what you mean by that. But as I said, you can use those BBQ pellets as long as they're hardwood and that's what your species wants. I grew Reishi on unsupplemented BBQ pellets using Lipa's Fuel Pellet Tek. Just colonize grain spawn like normal and spawn in open air per Lipa's Tek (need to sterilize with supplemented sub and spawn in SAB/LFH though).
Those are both on BBQ pellets.
