Forgot to Add Verm

So here's the deal...
I've been out of the shroom game for my annual hiatus (I generally do a few runs in the winter and then call it done for a year.)
I got cocky and didn't reference any teks cause I basically have them memorized... so I got nice and stoned and spawned my rye berries to coco coir.. and that's it. No VERM!!! Ha... whoops.
Anywho..
*[Note the cotton-like mycelium. I feel as if there may have been some bacteria in my spawn jars or maybe I just let everything sit too long.. My spawn jars sat fully colonized for a week and a half and I didn't kick my tub into fruiting until the sub was fully colonized for over a week. I'm lazy...]
...here are the pics of the first flush from pinset til now. I'll probably harvest the tub in the next 24 - 48 hours. Most likely my best flush ever with bulk so far too... even without the verm.
Oh.. and I went from spore to agar. Transferring about 6 times. Then put the agar to grains.

So... how did I get so lucky without using verm?? I figured the coir would be too saturated and "muddy" without the verm but it appears to be doing great.
Anyways.. Cheers! 🍻

Daaaaannnng. Really?? If I'm going by results only, I'd have to say I don't see the benefit of mixing in verm. Besides it's cheap and adds a little more spawn material to the mix.
I guess you guys haven't ran into any issues from using only coir? Any trouble keeping the sub hydrated through flushes or anything like that??
Also, I've been on this forum for years now and I see tons of people worried about finding verm in their area. It seems some towns just dont carry it anywhere. It seems like it would be sound advice to tell then to skip it and go full coir? Bodhisatta, you're the man, if you dont use it then why should anyone else!? (With coir that is).

Coir holds more water than verm. It's perfect on it's own. Keep it simple, keep it cheap, keep it boomin.

Shiiiiiiitttt! Looks like I might "forget" verm on my next mono too! Looking good BLINK!
Random question...why are the fruits in the last two pics leaning to one side? Are they chasing the fresh air?

I have my tubs sitting next to a window for light. So the fruits are leaning towards the sun. Works great. (The 6500k light on a timer got old quick.) Like Quirkmeister said, "keep it simple. Keep it boomin."
When I got home today I was thinking about that.. so I turned the tub 180° to see if they straighten up in a day or two. But if not who cares lol. The tub was turned already by time I took the pics as you can see. Now they appear to be growing away from the light.

I turn my tubs if they're goin sideways, but they do what they like. The shape and size doesn't matter, just quantity of quality.
