Just finished the 3rd episode of the new animated Godzilla anime from TOHO Animation.

Watched “The Apostle” last night.  If you dig unsettling horror, that’s a good one.

There is a promo Netflix has been showing for "Titans" that starts off in this diner that I drive by all the time. The food is pretty good but I haven't eaten there in a long time.

I wanted to watch this to maybe see other local landmarks and whatever but it just did not hold my interest at all. Been watching "The Frankenstein Chronicles". Pretty decent so far.

I watched ‘Fyre’, the documentary about the failed Fyre fest thrown by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule.  It was pretty good.  That McFarland is a heck of a con man, but he overreached with Fyre and it all fell apart.  Before I watched the movie I thought Fyre was an idea that just went awry, but now I think that it was always meant to be a scam.  Interesting movie.

My wife and I just watched that last night and I was blown away.
I knew that whole things was fucked but I never realized he extent.
I seriously can’t believe he was trying to run scam on the Fyre e-mail list while being out on bail.
The ego you’d have to have to think you could get away with this shit.
Seriously dumbfounded.

Yeah, that was wild.  The cheek of that guy.

Apparently there’s a pretty good Fyre Fest documentary on Hulu, too.  I read that that one has interviews with McFarland.

I'm watching the new season of the Punisher.  I like it but it's not amazing.

I watched ‘Trigger Warning with Killer Mike’.  One episode, anyway.  I really like Killer Mike, but I don’t get a whole lot of TV time, so I need to watch something that is escapist.  When I’m just trying to chill, I don’t want to think about the socio-political problems in the world.  Even if I do tend to agree with his position.  So that one was a no-go from me.

‘The Monster’ wasn’t bad, but not exceptional either.  Really generic, simple plot.  It is salvaged by the very solid acting, but not something I’d go out of my way to recommend to anyone.

I’m not all the way through it, but the third season of ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ is so far as good as the first two seasons.  Excellent show, in a lot of ways.

Did any of you watch ‘Hereditary’ (on Amazon Prime) yet?  Oscar nominations are out, and I know the academy tends to shun horror, but I had hoped Toni Collette would’ve been considered for Best Actress.  She didn’t get the nomination, but she sure deserved it.  I hope one of you gives Hereditary a chance, it was definitely one of the best things I saw from 2018.

I started this and it seems super promising.  I fell asleep about 30 mins in but not because it wasn’t interesting, I was just exhausted.  Looking forward to finishing it.

I too thought this was just a failed attempt at a music festival when I read about it in the news a year or two ago.  Didn’t realize this guys history and his MO.  Someone today told me he only got 6 yrs of prison?  He got off light then if you ask me.  What I can’t tell yet is whether Ja Rule got fleeced too or if he was an accomplice?

Has anyone merntioned American Meme yet?  I was pleasantly surprised with that one.  It’s a pretty good look at social media celebrities and the culture.  You know, the people most of us hate that are just famous for being famous.  It’s funny and sad at the same time.

I watched American Meme a while back.  It was interesting, but kinda sad/weird.  I can’t fathom living like that, carefully arranging my life for presentation on social media.  Just seems crazy, almost like a mental disorder.  I mean, the most successful of them are making some pretty serious money, but for every one person who has it like that, there are thousands of wannabes that are embarrassing themselves for no real reason.  It’s just strange.

I hear ya.  It got depressing at times.  I never thought I would say this but...I feel so sorry for Paris Hilton.  When she said her only true friends in this world are those that follow her online?  How pathetic.

This should be mandatory viewing for kids prior to parents giving them a cell phone and opening social media accounts.  Almost like a PSA of how worthless your life can become if you get addicted to that kind of life.

I'm one of the most anti-millennial people on the planet but after watching this documentary, I now have some sympathy for them.  Yeah bro your insta and snapbook life looks so cool, but there's a good chance that deep down inside you're just a sad lonely person.  Like the rest of us lol

I figure this probably fits into the Netflix thread.  Here’s a flowchart of Bandersnatch decisions and endings.  Apparently it’s not complete; there are a couple “secret” endings that have only come out in the past few days.  For instance, if you choose to pick up the family photo twice, you get a different ending.

Flowchart here.

Did anyone else think Will Poulter (actor who played Colin) was great in Bandersnatch?  He really stood out to me.

My Apple TV is too old and it says it can’t do interactive content.
