Colonizing jars on the shelf (PF Tek) 1

I am interested in trying the PF Tek.
1. After the jars are inoculated, they are stored on shelves. When you store these jars on shelves, should they be stored in the dark or should the jars be stored in open light?
2. When the cakes are growing in the terrarium, should the terrarium be kept in a dark room or in light?
For clarity, please number each answer according to the question that you are answering.

light's good at all stages. Mushrooms don't grow in the dark.

1. Shelf is fine, light is good. 2. Terrarium is bad, make a sgfc, do some searching and reading. The link above my sig is the best place to start.

Only potential problems & waste of money. Room temperature is ideal and they are fine in quite a range of temps really.

What is SGFC? I looked at the link you recommended and didn't see that.
I've read over the PK Tek protocol many times. The downloads called "lets make mushrooms" uses a terrarium so I thought that would be ok.

Wow. I'm really surprised to hear that. Organisms have an optimal growth temperature and these incubators can control temperature so I thought surely this would be the way to go.
What potential problems can these cause?

Terrariums work. I use a terrarium. You won’t get the absolute best results but you’ll still get plenty of mushrooms to munch on.

higher temps breed bacteria and mold. Incubators are 100% not necessary and will probably increase your contamination rate. Just leave them at room temp exposed to ambient light. Some people play around with light schedules and bulbs, but honestly ambient light from a window is fine if you are just starting out.
also, SGFC and Terrariums both work. Just gotta dile it in right. Look up Teks from a TC (trusted cultivator) and follow one of those.

Ok so I am on my very first grow and I'm following PF tek and have had not a single issue so far. I did 9 1/2 pint wide mouth jars and injected them. I then put them in my spare bedroom closet on the top shelf. And just left them there in the dark. I checked on them every 2 days and they are all 9 fully colonized and looking great.
I don't believe light matters at all. At least not in the colonization part.
Here's a link to my current grow: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25603227

Basically a container with tons of holes all over and perlite at the bottom.
