Jars Colonizing at Different Rates

I have about 10 or so jars. I had to throw out a few of them due to contam but I have one that is completely colonized and LOOKS like its growing a mushroom at the top. I could be totally wrong though. But anyways, will the fully colonized jar be okay while the others colonize fully? If not, should I set up the fruiting chamber and let just that one fruit while the others colonize? I don't want to lose another jar. In the other jars, it seems like their growing may have slowed so any tips to jumpstart growing again would also be appreciated. But most of the jars are 90% colonized. I used the PF Tek and this is my first grow so I really don't know.

Pictures please.
The only thing i can answer so far is a colonized jar can sit for a bit even with pins. A week for that last 10% normally will be fine. If you're doing sgfc or hc just birth as they're ready.

Restrict the air that the spawn can get it will stop any pins in the jar.

Also do you think I could open the jar with the already growing mushrooms, just to look? I'm so curious and it's killing me. I would take a pic but you can only see it at the top so it's hard to capture. I don't think it's contam though because it's textured like a mushroom and brown

Don't open a jar until it's fully colonized.
Yes pictures of what your jars look like from the sides will help tell if they're contaminated.

Yeah it's fine to wait, sucks it's already growing mushrooms though.
A full fruiting chamber seems to work better than a fruiting chamber with 1 cake.
If your fruiting chamber is small I might birth it. If not I would prolly wait for the other jars

If its 100% colonized it should be fine to open the jar. I would just birth them as they colonize, if it were me... Do u have pics of the 90% ones? Sometimes if the bottom is too wet they will stop completely. If they're still growing tho they should be fine.

Here's a pic of the colonized jar with what I thought was a 'mushroom' at the top. I opened it and it was not, but instead some disgusting, slimy brown thing (not a mushroom) Here's a pic of it before I opened the jar though.
I plan to give the other jars a week or few more days to see if they make any more progress and if not I'm gonna birth them, see what happens and then start on a new batch with what I learned this first try.

Okay here's the pic, you can see near the lid on the right side the big brown discoloration.

I don't see any pics man. Can't help without them. Adding to what others have said, refrigerating a culture can also stall growth for future reference.

One more thing: when you have a barrier of vermiculite, removing the lid should not make much of a difference. I have done cakes in whiskey glasses without a lid without problems. Primordia are triggered by more variables than just FAE - light exposure and changes to moisture levels will also cause pinning. All that said, you should still be patient and avoid fingering your jars!

well the jar was contaminated anyways, sadly. That was my problem too, the vermiculite barrier was completely colonized with mycelium and also whatever contam that was in there. They definitely got water in there while in the PC and i dont think my barrier was very thick to begin with
