Clean your home and keep it clean. After that use fly management techniques like sprays and glue strips.

Simply keeping your kitchen plus all the drains in the home clean and window screens in working order should really help

Had the same issue after we brought some houseplants in from the porch before the cold-snap.  Here's what worked for me:
1. Good old fly sticky-tape
2. A ramekin of apple-cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap
3. Mostly empty red wine bottle - fuckers love the sauce
4. Sticky tabs for any houseplants

I've heard of people having good luck with mosquito dunks though I personally have not tried.  Also have heard they don't like the smell of nag champa so it could be time to get your hippy on.

Be sure to get rid of all their food sources for two life-cycles (kill the parents and the wait for the next gen and wipe 'em out).

Good luck - fungus gnats are evil bastards and deserve a special place in hell for decimating my second tub.

Put some ground up amanita muscaria in a small plate of milk, replace each day.
You can also use add some diatomaceous earth to your casing mix.
Fly paper is also helpful.
Prevention is probably the best bet as bod mentioned, keeping everything clean helps alot.

Definitely make sure your drains are clear of any meat. Do your dishes instead of letting them sit in the sink for a week.

yes. wash your dishes guys. basic cleaning of your house works wonders. if you have cat boxes with multiple cats, you need to clean them atleast once every 3 days. if not more frequently.

I only ever got flies/fungus gnats when my bulk substrate got too wet from not having proper field capacity, overspraying, or dunking cakes. Keeping a clean home/space didn't help if my substrate was too wet or not properly prepared.

When preparing bulk substrate, I always oversaturate, wring out as much moisture as I can by hand, transfer to a separate container, break and fluff them up, then pasteurize them in quart jars. Never have a problem when I do it this way and don't oversaturate.
