BRF cake stalled!! What next?

Hey all!!
SO. I had very little spores in a syringe, and I decided to try to spread them out across three cakes inoculating one hole only in each. This seemed to be the right idea, because one cake has already contaminated. But another cake has VERY strong mycelium with these big rhizomorphs going through and doing very nice looking stuff.
However, just as suspected, the single-hole inoculation has made the mycelium stall, having only colonized about 2/3 of the jar now.
Should I just wait? Should I do something else? Thanks for the input!

Lots of possibilities.
When were they noc'd? What are temps like? How long has it stalled?
A lot of times, if it stalls it can be contaminated. Sometimes it can just be that temps became too cool. Sometimes, it just needs a little more time.
For me, myc seems to slow down if I get below 68 in my room.
Good luck!

Temperature has a lot to do with stalling. Naturally, since there was only one inoculation point the growth is probably going to be slower.

Thanks for the input guys. I honestly think it was temperature. Growth was really fast when a bit warmer. I'm adjusting temperatures now. Thank you!

Ya I had 5 jars stall on me so I put them in my basement with the wood stove instead of the 3rd floor and they finished up in 2 days. The basement stays like 78-80 with the wood stove going. Not sure why I didn’t just keep them there in the 1st place.

Right on. But mid 70's is good. If you get into the 80 degree realm it can feed more contams. The whole thing behined the BRF cakes is that it really gives this great nutrition for the myc to outrun contams. But temps sure can play on that.

Like the great RR once said. Bang that jar on a bicycle tire and shake it up. You'll be at 100% within 3 days otherwise it contam'd. Those grow bags usually are too moist and cause bacterial contams. Do you see a bunch of moisture around the stalled area?

UPDATE: I raised the temperatures back up to mid/high 70s and the cake is finishing up! Woo hoo!
