possible method for harvest of contaminent free spores from outdoor grow.

I've been racking my brain to figure out a simple method of harvesting clean spores from outdoor grow mushrooms, e.g. azures.
Rather than taking prints, I wondered if there might be merit in injecting sterilized water through an unbroken veil, leaving the cap on its back under a glass and sucking it back up say 12 hours later.
Other than anything that gets in through the point of injection Im thinking this should be pretty clean.
I have no idea if this has something to it or if it is totally unworkable.
Any thoughts?

Yes I have thoughts on this.
Okay im sorry but asceptic print making for indoor and outdoor fruits is a complete myth with the exception of printing from invitro fruits. Cut the cap off. Put on foil and cover with a cup.
I've gotten usuable clean growth on wild and indoor prints without having to clean the culture before going to grain. It's not uncommon.
You're right that solving the problem of wild prints is an interesting thought experiment but i don't think wild prints are going to be more dirty than prints from a monotub out of some guys living room.
Your idea of aspirating spore water from a cap within a veil is novel and should be experimented with.

I'd think if you did like you said and injected solution into an cap w/ veil then turned it upside down into a shot glass in a SAB it could work out. it would require deft hands for certain.
bookmarked this thread, i'd like you to trial your idea if you have the motivation and the jars.

I kinda doubt it'll work. I've tried to take prints from fruits that had torn their veils, but was too early for spore production and got nothing. If the cap's not opened up with dark gills, it probably doesn't have spores made yet afik.
Changing foil after the first few hours is probably you're best bet, but good luck if you try. You might get some tissue in there and maybe get a clone to grow from it.

thanks all for the quick and positive responses. I'm still a newb at this but have had quite a bit of success this last year in a few different ventures. a few failures too, but I'm more than happy with the spoils of success.
Now that outdoor experiment looks like it is going to be a hit, I'm thinking Of like to help this species along in the uk. It looks incredibly tough and resiliant.
I am sure that when I add more substrate in the spring the myc will rip though as it did this year.
tbh I'm heavy handed and the micro biology side of things is not really my strength. but I'll take some prints anyway when I have some full grown samples to see how I get on....a first for me.
And if I get round to the idea I mentioned I'll feedback.I feel a bit obliged now

Started making me think about veils and how well they would hold up with a needle poked through. That one broke after the mushroom was molested just a little.

Wait, those aren't the same mushrooms. hmmm

hmm, I was thinking about that.
What about if the injection point was made through the cap :.)

Probably easier to just be good at agar and able to easily get a clean culture anyway
