Can I eat these under developed blue oysters?

So I tested my new grow setup with these PF Cakes of Blue Oyster. They took off quick but produced wayyyy too many fruits for the habitat and too much CO2 kept them small.
Are they safe to eat, just because I want to try them and LOVE all mushrooms...
They smell okay and seem fine, but just making sure.
I am sure they won't be Delicious, but I am curious. Any ideas of what I can do with them beside munch and/or throw them out?

You can but you will not like it. Most people discard the stipes (because they are chewy) and only eat the caps.
If you want to eat them make a cream of mushroom soup and blend them up with an emersion blender.

I dry the stipes and make a stock from them, it works excellent in risotto.
I agree with Nimph. Use the cakes for an outdoor grow, you will get better fruits outside, oysters need a lot of FAE. You can also use straw.

I wouldnt bother. They need a ton more Fresh Air Exchange - a Shot Gun Fruiting Chamber is not ideal for oysters but if you search "SGFC" and check the "Trusted Cultivators" box and build one to spec you should get better results than that. Keep at it though! Its clear you've caught the bug, this hobby can be very rewarding.

Why cakes? Just ....why?..... try a 5 gallon bucket and straw. You'll get 500× the oysters u did.
