Radical!!! What dose Corn-E-Morph mean is it just corn? What dose the E-Moroh mean? Do you put poo in the straw bags, or is it straight straw?

Here's a picture of Blue oyster mushrooms (Pl. columbinus) fruiting from the large Straw-Based MycoBag(TM) in our office's "ghetto chamber."

Here is a link to the entire thread with more pictures.

These larger bags appear to LOVE just about every oyster variety we've tested them with.

To hold to our quality control standards we will not be able to offer rye grain in the large size bag.
The corn is great for using as a spawn to bulk substrates and I consider it a most excellent sustitute for the rye. I personally would rather use corn than rye as it is less likely to contaminate and it grows through much faster.

Well the small Mycobag (original size) have about 1 pound of material in them while the new large size size have just just over 4 pounds of material in them.
In short have 4 times the substrate in a large size injector bag and cost only $10 more!!!

Why does the rye contaminate easier than the corn? Is this generally true or just in the bags?

Rye is well known for its high endospore content. It has nothing to do with bags.
With small quantities, such as our original Rye-Z-Morph bag we are able to kill everything with a 90 minute sterilization time. In a larger bag we would have to increase this time to a point where it is not economical. Corn has none of these problems. My guess is the kernels are more protected by those layers of modified leaves that cover the ear. I am not possitive it is only a guess.

To GanjaNamja:
I have not used jars in a very long time. to be able to answer your question I would need to know how much by weight you fill your jars.
