Anybody experienced with Arch Linux?

I started using it a couple months ago and am modestly proficient but I still run into snags often and almost as often can't find solutions to them. My problem now is my wireless interface seems to have disappeared. I was concerned about a security threat to I wiped my disk, repartitioned, and did a clean install. I can connect to ethernet with dhcpcd but wifi-menu returns the error "invalid interface specification." When I type ip link my wireless interface simply isn't there. When I did that on the previous install it was always listed, wlp5s0 alongside enp4s0 and lo. Now it's just enp4s0 and lo. When I boot into a live session with the installation medium I can connect to wifi fine, and the interface is shown in ip link. Additionally, when I chroot into my boot partition it shows up in ip link and I can connect.
Here is my wireless controller: Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter (rev 31) Subsystem: Lenovo QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter Kernel driver in use: ath10k_pci Kernel modules: ath10k_pci
Sorry if I got any terminology confused, just ask and I can clear it up. Any suggestions are welcome.

That site seems like a pretty hostile environment. Question got downvoted before anybody offered a solution then it was locked until I "clarify your specific problem or add additional details to highlight exactly what you need." I'm not sure how I could be any clearer.

Did you take a look at this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=233379 It seems that the driver is simply not installed. I'm not sure why the live CD does work, but apparently, the driver for your wlan card is not present by default in the Arch installation.

I did a fresh install and my interface is back but now I can't connect to any wireless networks . Gives error
Quote:
Job for netctl@eduroam.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status netctl@eduroam.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
I've tried multiple networks so it's unlikely there's something wrong with the profiles. Boy, troubleshooting is a blast.

I did a google search on the first line of the error message you posted and it looks like other people had similar problems. For this guy it was systemd launching a service called dhcpcd.service that fucks up the network config. Give it a shot

Eduroam has its peculiarities in terms of authentication and security. I'd test with a more regular WPA-secured or even unsecured/open network first.

After quite a bit of tweaking I managed to connect to eduroam on my last install, and I took a picture of the profile and copied it exactly and it's not connecting. I can't connect to any wireless network so it's not specific to eduroam. dhcpcd.service is something involving ethernet, I think it needs to be started to connect with a wire. I stopped it and wireless still isn't working.

DHCP is the generic service for acquiring an IP address (v4 or v6) on any kind of network that uses IP addresses and dynamic addressing (i.e. virtually all IP networks). Doesn't matter if it's cabled or not. You need a DHCP client; if for any reason a DHCP client is not installed on your distro or it's not associated with this network configuration, none of your wifi networks will work. If this is the problem you're running into is not clear, but in any case, no DHCP client = no networking for all intents and purposes.

Did you do the rest of the steps in that link after disabling it, like deleting the DHCP leases, clearing systemd, and deleting all wifi profiles for your wireless adapter, and then rebooting the system, etc?

It takes quite a bit of dedication and persistence but with the right skills you can configure it to do damn near anything you can think of.

DHCPCD is installed and working properly as far as I can tell.

Nope but I will tomorrow. I didn't look too much at that link because it doesn't seem to be the error I'm having.

Nah, you're right, I was mistaken. You still might want to try copying then deleting your wifi profiles and creating new ones, deleting dhcp leases, etc.

But I can't even connect to unsecured networks. If this helps any, when I open wifi-menu I get this message. The app still launches but it can't successfully connect to anything: Scanning for networks... nl80211: Could not set interface 'p2p-dev-wlp5s0' UP p2p-dev-wlp5s0: Failed to initialize driver interface

Have you tried reinstalling that driver yet? What kernel are you on?
