The pinning situation will improve over the coming days as the emerging fruits grow out more. Also more pins are on their way definitely so the the flushes will fill up as long as they have something to work with Most of the pins on your cakes resemble healthy growing fruits except maybe a few.
Aborts will often appear as slimy darker pins that stop growing. But they can also appear as healthy looking pins that suddenly stop growing and start to mature and open caps. These type of aborts will mostly be recognized by their more mature looking body proportions even tho the fruits are small pins or a tad bigger.
Fruits can handle being sprayed down (it rains in nature) and even small pins can handle being misted as long as there is no standing water left on top of the pins and fruits for prolonged periods like days. A properly set up HC will keep high humidity even in very dry rooms so observe your cakes before, after and in between misting to see how its affecting them, and observe the micro climate inside and outside the tub to easily predict what it needs. When my tubs and cakes grow the way I like it that means I usually don't interact much with spray bottles before second flush. Once a day tops. Every other/third day is more what I strive for. But as a said, observing the variables closer you'll accumulated more understanding of it. I for example always know what's the climate in my room, in the fruiting chambers and I also keep track on the water content in fruiting cakes and substrates.

I have a SGFC for my oysters and even then I have a fan going otherwise they don’t get enough FAE and don’t grow properly. And even that’s not ideal...

Thanks for the feedback.
I’m trying to make sure the cakes are “glistening” however when I pick some of them up they seem lighter than they should. But I’m learning to back off a bit from the misting and give them lots of fresh air. I’m even leaving the lid off for longer period of time and let the humidity fall to about 85 degrees. Inside and outside temp is usually low to mid 70’s.
What should I do with the pins that don’t grow?
Is there a forum on sencond flush or how does that work?

Not sure if this is a silly question or not.. but how often do you guys end up needing to mist? Like how do you know when you need a misting? Directly to the cakes and the walls? Or just the walls?

glad I found this tek. currently waiting for my jars to fully colonize, when they do ill be trying this for sure. Could I use aluminum foil to make a lid for the HC ? like leave the edges unsealed for FAE???

That depends on how much we increase FAE And how dry the air is in the grow area. I can fruit cakes without misting then even once and I can fruit 27th the same setup misting once or twice daily. It's all up to you really. Quote:

Why not use the lid of the tub?

the tub I have readily available doesn't have a lid. so I was wondering if I made a lid with foil would be ok.?? Also, would you say this Tek gives a better yield than fruiting in jar like Bod's easy AF tek?

Yield is not decided by FC, it depends on the culture, nutrients available, water, how well you take care of the cakes and so on. You can fruit cakes however you want really

so theres not much difference yield wise dunking and rolling and then placing cakes in HC versus only dunking and replacing dry verm layer to top fruit in jars with bags over the jar like Bod's tek? ive only fruit in jars so far so im curious

You definitely need to roll in verm when fruiting cakes in a SGFC, that's to protect the cakes from drying out too fast but with this setup cakes don't dry out.

Would this be a good idea to use with a couple bulk trays? I was planning on spawning to a couple trays and placing them in a SGFC, but thought maybe there would be less maintenance if a go with a humidity chamber. Or should this tek only be used for cakes?
