. What was a tub of pretty white mycelium has attained a slight grey hue and a bit of a "cobwebby" appearance. Knowledgeable help would be greatly appreciated.

The green is most likely trichoderma, it starts off white before sporulating green

Is that green? it looks blue on my screen. But there is a large patch uncolonized.

You'd imagine it's trich, given this is how it usually presents itself..Possible it could be penicillin, but doesn't usually appear in the edge of tubs like this..whatever it is it should be in the trash though

Bad pic . It doesn't look remotely green in real life. I'll see if I can get a better one.

The dark blotches in the first pic are a result of shadowing. Hopefully these close-ups may be better for positive ID. We've had intermittent power outages, and my room temp and humidity have shot up during the day. That's when the problem began I assume.

Generally you'd see there's a demarcated area that won't colonise then its due to something stopping the mycelium, either bacteria or mold..It looks really wet in the picture? Although you say those blue\green areas don't look the same by eye, I'd be worried as the photo may be picking up stuff that's developing..It could be bruising perhaps, but it looks more like mold in the first two pics..What temps are you seeing? Have you been misting?

Those dark areas along the edge were shadows created by the polyfil and the larger one at the bottom of the pic was my phone . The overhead light in the room caused it. We saw temps of mid 80s and 100% humidity. I noticed an overall change in color of the surface, from a bright white to a dull white to almost pale gray. The area of no colonization was also a mistake on my part. I checked the edge with a spoon for the moisture level to see if I had the substrate too wet. When I initially filled the tub, only a drop or 2 could be squeezed from the sub as hard as I could squeeze.

Okay cool..If you subtract those areas then the rest isn't looking too bad from what I can see, is your sub just coir? My subs have always gone a bit grey as the mycelium thickens up ontop, if it were cobweb it should look quite apparent
Ideally you'd want to try and bring the room humidity down so you get evap from the sub, as well as the temp to 70-75

10 4, and thank you for your help Shrooms pective, and everyone else. We've recently went thru a hurricane, and in my area power has finally been reliable for the last few days again. Temps and humidity are back to good. Low to mid 70s, and humidity set to 50%. I shined a blue spectrum light in from the side and got the best pics I could with this phone.

The sub is a blend of pasture aged, then refined and sun dried hpoo, verm, and coir. Pasteurized. PHed with dolomite and gypsum added.

Yes it did! I've had to use the same spot a few more times to assure myself I was in the correct moisture zone.
