Cube Colonized bags contaminated-pretty wet...
    #25589336 -

So I probably cooked my oats too much and loaded them too wet in these bags. This is a G2G from an old MS petri... so I'm not too upset if the consensuses is pitch. They stalled on me at about 90% and I shook them 5-6 days ago. Is it worth taking to coir?

I'm pretty sure I know the vector. When I ziptie them, they aren't air tight. I'm going to change my technique on the next bags.

As you say it looks wet..but not looking obviously like ice cream, and they look to have recovered after a shake, so chances are you're probably good, unless there is anything else you're seeing that's not shown in the pics

So I think I’m going to try and keep the excess liquid off the grains and see if they recover a little better in the next few days. Thanks for the confidence, if nothing else I should get 1 or 2 good flushes.

Once they are looking fully colonised I'd spawn each to a separate shoebox or two rather than mix in a mono, just to be on the safe side

Will do. I think I might head to walmart and get some shoeboxes and some more jars...

looks like wet spot to me.  its slow growing.  u notice it more after continued shakes.  u can spawn the bags an most likely get shrooms but it will probably stunt yields and weaken the sub for other contaminants to take hold.  ive been fighting this lately.  spawned 6 tubs with spawn that looked suspect.  3 triched before  pinning, 2 got some nice pinsets in before being devastated by trich, and one made it to harvest but still had a nice patch of trich starting to form

My bags haven't really changed.... I'm pretty hesitant to put them on coir, should I proceed? They're colonized, but they look weird.

Might as well? Even if they have some wetspot they'l probably push out some fruit first..I've got a couple of dubious jars too and I'm going to spawn them to shoeboxes 1:1 with coir

Yeah, I did a pretty heavy ratio, so hopefully
It colonized and fruits before anything beds in there with it.

4 days later... I probably added to much grain to coir. I have 4 tubs that are more of a 1:1 ratio and 4 tubs that are more like 1.5:1 ( It might be an even higher ratio than that, I couldn't stand to throw out the spawn once its being poured on the coir)

There is a strong mushroom/astringent odor when opened.

This is a 1.5:1

1 bag I spawned in shoe boxes on the 6th looked just like the other 2 bags that I spawned on the 8th.

The cased is clearly going to have a better pinset, but the cased ones seem to lag behind a couple days. Ill post when they are finished.

Un-cased. Coir/verm

Cased. Coir/verm

I got lucky. I did a small harvest and took pics of some of the boxes before my battery died. Some of these were spawned a couple days apart. I keep running into fuzzy feet, and some slightly dried up sub.

In the second photo there is a sprout growing. It must be from the verm. I think I used verm after I pasteurized the coir to soak up some excess water.

Thanks for talking me into spawning it guys. I was pretty disappointed when I posted my pictures AND I've learned quite a bit from this.
