Cyanescens propagation .. timing question?
    #25589293 -

Hey all,

I've been collecting a lot of cyanescens this fall here in the PNW, and am trying to spread the mycelium to create new patches for future years.  I have a tub going indoors that I inoculated with stem butts and colonized chips from existing patches, and I'm feeding it with cardboard and wood chips.  The mycelium is spreading nicely!

I have a question about timing for introducing the mycelium into outdoor wood chip beds.  Should I transplant them outside now, in early November, or keep them going and feeding them more wood chips all winter and transplant in the spring?  Temps outside are generally in the 40s and 50s now, but will be growing colder and can expect a hard freeze anytime.

So which is the better location for overwintering the mycelium.. outside (30-40 degrees), inside (60-70 degrees), or perhaps an unheated garage (40-50 degrees)?

Advice or experience would be much appreciated, thanks!

Id wait till spring or when the worst of winter is done with building a shit ton of woodchips. They wont fruit till next year anyways.

Nothingchanged said he likes to plant blocks in woodchips i think, saralove threw some stem butts in a cup of chips an made it colonize, liloldme did deluded lc in a squirt gun to chips with great results.
