Fuzzy feet and mutated mushrooms?
    #25585196 - 11/01/18 06:45 PM (6 years, 2 months ago)

Hello friends. Is it normal to have fuzz on your mushrooms like in this picture? Cause the fuzz isn’t just around the bottom of some of them. These are shoeboxes and I’ve been giving them a fuck ton of FAE. I know some people just leave the lid on but I’ve been flipping it over or leaving it cracked. Also is it normal to have such mutated mushrooms like that? Genetics? Or something else? Any help would be appreciated. Much love.

Mutants happen...sometime genetics other times contamination like bacteria can cause mutants...

You said you've been giving them a lot of FAE...how often are you misting?

My gut is telling me you were overmisting and got some bacteria in there causing mutants...I could be wrong tho.

I was misting whenever I couldn’t see little beads of moisture on the surface. Sometimes once every few hours. Sometimes longer like waiting overnight. They were always pretty light mistings tho. Like two sprays from a bottle. Any other way to tell of bacteria? If it is are they unsafe to eat?

I'd say if it has a pungent, rot smell, or any odor besides fresh, mushrooms may be a bacteria indicator.

The fruits will be ok as long as you dehydrate them in a heated dehydrator or dehydrate and make a tea perhaps.

Post more pics with the updates...it could be nothing

Awesome. They definitely smell like fresh mushrooms. I’ll keep a close eye on them and keep you updated. Always dehydrate  and if I’m extra worried I do love me some tea.
