I am going to go hunting tonight. I dont know if the shrooms are out yet...only one way to find out  :laugh:

I was told last year that Ps. Cubensis dont grow in Arkansas, but they do. When I get a print who could I send it to to get a strain ID.

It won't be a strain, just a wild P. Cubensis.
Strains are for marketing purposes.

grow it out on agar for a few generations, isolating the best rhizomorhic growth
then use the agar to knock up some jars, grow em out, clone the best shroom, grow it out, take a print go back to agar for a few isolations
keep doing this and you'll get to name yr own strain
i say call it the "Clinton" strain

I have eaten them and EQ's. The wild ones have a much stronger visual trip to them. Im going to get some and grow them this year. I have been growing for almost a year now and have gotten the hang of it.

I thought that they may be Gulf Coast or some other known shroom.

IDing to a strain is just not possible. If you decided you wanted to designate a strain, all you'd have to do is say you have a new strain. Strains have no scientific value. A strain of mushroom is such an arbitrary thing. For the most part, I'd say "strains" is a marketing gimick. Sure some mushrooms from parts of the world look differently but the fact of the matter is that Psilocybe cubensis is Psilocybe cubensis.

Please don't ask for strain identification here because you're never going to get an answer that is right.

When you get a print, I'd be happy to work with it.

As others have said, what you will have is a wild strain, possibly the species Psilocybe cubensis. The only ID you will get is whether the fruit is a cubensis or not.

Cool. Im pretty sure they are cubes. I didnt get to go hunting last night, but I am off this weekend and will go then.
