This. They're a cancer to the planet, the bane of my existence but also the greatest thing to happen so far in the universe that we're aware of. A vast majority of the joy in my life as well as a vast majority of the pain in my life relate directly back to other human beings.

Sanity is a sloppy and loose word.  It's almost entirely subjective.

I think Christianity is nothing less than flat out insanity, but I live in a predominantly christian culture.

Every day I feel like I'm stuck in a giant nut house where bullshit fantasy is encouraged and state endorsed.

But yeah, I'm sane, they're sane, whatever.

not, not insane? 

i try to behave in just enough of a rational manner while interacting with my world peers, to appear as if i have the required faculties about me.

what happens in the recesses of my own mind, that's the me that i prefer. 

i can only act the 'sane' for limited intervals.

It's talking to yourself.  There is no place for religion in a thinking person's world.  It means your entire basis for understanding the world is skewed from the start.
