Well this pic was taken from a dear friend of mine, the mushrooms cap was the size of an adult hand (palm), and it was picked in Ecuador, near Quito. It was taken last year, but more are coming from the latest pick they had, which was a couple of weeks ago. Now is the season over there, I was wondering if anybody knows any other species that grow in Ecuador, they only pick psilocybe cubensis because those are the easiest to identify, but I am sure there should be more. As soon as i get more pics i ll post them here. Damn I miss Ecuador.
The Ecuadorian mushrooms have been identified in the literature as Psilocybe subcubensis and no reports of Psilocybe cubensis from that country. This is from many collections on deposit in Ecuador herbariums and in Mexico at the instituto de Ecologia.
