Wbs and straw mixed grain jar advice pleaze

Im lacking in wbs on top of that its kinda old. Is it possible to use a mix of straw and wbs in a grain jar? Will it colonize like a regular wbs jar? Could I mix straw in to make of for the lack of how much wbs I have?

I wouldn't. Straw is bulk sub. Bulk sub won't do well in a jar. Are you inoculating with spores or something else?

I wouldn't for grain jars. You can use straw in cakes, but trying to do it in anything but cake jars will make problems getting it out.

I have a bunch of colonized agar, and can make a crapload of lc if needed. I guess i was just courious. Thought if it was mixed right it could do as good or better than regular. Just seems like straw would freshen the small out and old wbs i got. I dont wanna waste my time on it if it wont work. But my theory is that it should perform well. What u guys think bout this overall? Plenty of mycilum i got, bur not alot of wbs or jars at the moment so want a way to expand tge amount of substrate but also have succesfull grain jars.

I can grow it out of the jars invitro like some ppl do with straight wbs if needed.

To sum it up though. I got alot cultures, plenty of mycelium to use. Not enough bird seed. No money at moment so looking for natural renewable resources to use thats easily found outside in order to substitue or add to a wbs to make a mix.
