Sporeprints are pretty tricky and usually used if you are going to make an agar culture. If you want to try the print in the jar thing I would recomment scraping the print off the index card into a sterilized jar with sterilized water in it (cooled of course). You would have to do this in a sterile environment to reduce the chance of contams entering your jar. You could try the oven tek but the best way is to make a cheap glovebox out of cardboard or something. Another way would be to use the honey tek to germinate the spores and then use the mycellium water to innoculate. However, if you are a newbie to mushroom growing, the best possible thing you could do is order a syringe. Hard to screw those up.

So does 3/4 of a cup of water sound good? My FOAF can't order syringes because my FOAF doesn't have enough $ for as many as syringes as my FOAF is gonna need. Don't even bother asking how many my FOAF is gonna need. :wink:

Just substitue your spore print for the syringe, meaning scrape the spores in the jar in as sterile an environment as possible. Good luck.
