Heres this weeks failures in trying to start my mushroom business...
I got pissed off at my steamer and couldnt risk underheating bags so I made a new one thats controlled by a microprocessor! Its got all the bells and whistles It opens up into my lab for easy access.

So anyways half way through the first run I was fidgeting with my board I soldered up and accidentally set it down on a staple in the wood. So it shorted out and stopped working. Now I need to make another. Currently just running the element full blast instead.
I put my first surviving bags in the farm today. Ive got 10 fruiting... I figured Id have better luck this week so I went to get my spawn bag that was scheduled to finish up. A mouse chewed through it at some point. I cant help but laugh at my luck and how far behind I am.

I'm about a year away from starting my mushroom business. Good luck!
I confess I lost 20 oat jars of pan cyan to trich. Thought my culture was clean. Going back to an old T1 plate that must have hidden trich and hoping to wrestle something clean from it. Damn old print is being stubborn.

Good luck new farmers! ^^^
Chwyn, do you make circuit boards from scratch? I find that stuff so interesting and have dabbled a bit myself. Can you post a picture of your board?

I bought solderable prototype board on ebay and used an ATtiny85 chip with one 4.7k resistor between 5v and sensor data wire.

I confess I have thought about installing a system that looks like it works but doesn't really... like a motion sensor light and a dummy video cam... or even a real video cam that isn't hooked up and a sign that reads "you're on candid camera" or some shit. I just don't want some dude start tearing into my back shed because they see light coming out or smell cannabis in there. The stash of cannabis and fungi could add up to a bit of change in there. I had some teenagers in my back yard about a year ago at 2 in the morning. I ran out there and chased them down the street, threatening to get my gun (that I don't own) or call the cops. I've never seen any kids back there again...

They smelled really good after shaking. There was a little moisture pushed out of the grains, but overall they didn't look contaminated.

Is it common for grains to need a shake after G2G?
