Very hard to say. Depends on what conditions you'll keep it in your house. If you were to provide humidity (I'm guessing ~85% RH) and temperature around 75 - 83, you might have some mushrooms. It wouldn't be anywhere near the yeild you would get if you were to case some horse poo, though.
hope that helps,

I have always wondered about this....
How come we are so anal about sterilization but in nature everything just happens. If you lived in the proper climate can't you just take a cow patty whole, put it in your yard and put 1 cc of spores in it, wouldnt mushies grow?

hey thanx for your suggestions... yeah i was just thinking about getting a couple of patties from the fields and then just have them in my back yard, it would be the same kind of weather, i just dont know how handling them will affect them... also, can you water them too much? that is what will trigger them to grow right? Another thing i was wondering is if i could pu my own kind of substrate in the patties to keep the shrooms growing... kind of like feeding the shroomies i dont know... Thanx people Alex

That's exactly what I was thinking. All you need is cowshit and spores....... Right?..... I will be experimenting with this in a few weeks. If I am mistaken and it frigs up, I will post a thread (if shroomery will allow it).

Things take much longer in nature. There's a genet not too far from me that is estimated to be 300 years old covering a 3 acre park, that has only fruited once in the early 90s.
We create conditions optimal for growth. Those conditions will grow almost anything, including contams.
Spores do better when digested by a cow, btw. Feed a cow some spores, and you should have shrooms shooting from their patties.

U could try making an lc and directly innoculating store bought cow shit and see if itll colonize and fruit. Experiments are fun. But dont expect it to work ur first try

I've collected manure before for reasons other than growing mushrooms and got some nice cubensis by accident. Left it in a pile and it fruited. Can it work, yes....but for the sole purpose of growing them its probably highly unlikely
