I wanted to link my old "Timothy Leary mp3?s" thread so that people who are new to the forum could enjoy them. The thread is now in the archives. Here it is.......

Timothy Leary mp3?s

Scattered throughout that thread are links to rare Timothy Leary mp3?s. I recommend checking out all of them, but then again I am "Learyfan" so.......

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

You're welcome. I didn't notice that you had bumped this. I'm pretty sure all of those links work fine. Check it again.

Fellow Shroomerites, tonight I have for you either the coolest or second coolest files i've ever shared with you. I have for you Timothy Leary's extremely rare 1966 album "Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out"(ESP label version). This is not the album of the same name from 1967, which can be found on Amazon.com or anywhere cd's are sold. This album has amazingly never been released on cd, either officially or on bootleg.

I acquired this from the webmaster of www.lysergia.com . He recorded the record on to cd and sent it to me along with a rare Gerald Heard album(which I will share soon). Here's a copy and paste from his site about the album....

Quote:

Original release: ESP 1027, US 1966

No producer credited

Engineered by David Hancock

Narrated by Timothy Leary

Comments: Leary's rarest LP is also one of his best. Recorded at Millbrook and all spoken word, this is similar to the Pixie LP but much more entertaining. Mixing recollections from earlier experiments with thoughts on contemporary events, this is as confrontational and subversive as he ever got. The LP title slogan later became tired, but here it seems newly coined and is presented as a rallying cry for the youth of America against the older generations. Hearing this makes you realize why he was once perceived as "the most dangerous man alive". Great LP, and still unknown to many. No reissue yet.

Note: this has the same title as the 1967 Mercury LP, but the contents are completely different.

Download this album and share it. It's a rare piece of psychedelic history that many people would love to have. Below the links is the front cover of the album. Enjoy.............

I listened to the ESP record last night right after a bong rip and then went to sleep. I sat in bed thinking about all the stuff. The recording really moved me. I'd like to open a discussion about it, so I'll start with something that I had never heard before but made so much sense.

He talks about how every baby that is born is a mutant - life's newest answer to adapting to life and the way it is. He also said that we share this planet with another species, namely the older generation. Because of the imprint made upon them by their mothers they will have a hard time seeing reality any other way but the way they think mom would've wanted it.

so interesting.... but my post must come to an end, im ripped. time to  listen again

I just finished reading his autobiography, Flashbacks, about a week ago. His thoughts and perspectives on many things have had a profound effect upon me. The book also inspired me to begin perusing The Shroomery again. It's good to be back

I'm now reading The Tibetan Book of the Dead, which Leary adapted into a contemporary manual entitled The Psychadelic Experience.

Leary was a really wonderful man in my book. I think he might have been a shit sometimes too. But I don't know that for sure but I heard he did a few shitty things to some friends from someone who may know. I really like what he has written and it has proved itself in my experience.

In general, Timothy Leary did wonderful things to promote further evolution of the human mind and was brave enough to stand by his beliefs in the face of aggressive persecution.

http://www.leary.ru/english/audio/ is a great site for Leary recordings.
