Stringy myc, normal?
    #2556533 - 04/13/04 09:22 PM (14 years, 10 days ago)

My jars have been colonizing very nicely or so I think. Is it normal for myc to seem like fingers crawling through the subtrate colonizing the jar?

Vaka is so right! Rhizomorphic growth is what you've got and it's a good thing! When it is present you can usually count on the cake fruiting well if you provide the proper environment. You'll be happy with those jars for sure!!

Thanks!
Was wondering, if this is good, then why is it growing so slooooooow now, my cakes are about done (they range between 60%+ 85% colonized). The temp in my incubation area is 65-70(which I know is a bit low) and the humidity is 50%.

wrap a sleeping bag or blanket around your incubation chamber, to help temps stabilize. (im guessing you're using a tub-in-tub incu).
if they've slowed to an almost stop, then remove any tape from the holes in the lids, and turn the jars upside down for a few days. the CO2 will drain out, and they should complete, if all else is up to par. how long has it been since innoc?
