First B+ mono run. Gimme your opinions. 1

Hey all. First time poster long time creeper haha. Finally got around to doing a bulk grow and would like some opinions and thoughts.
Background: I used a 3 year old B+ print and turned it into a Spore Syringe. PC'd the water, added spores in my SAB, used sterilized syringes, the whole shabang.
I used a standard WBS tek for my grains. I say "standard" as I've come to throw a few steps from multiple teks in my process. Basically: Rinse grain till absolutely clear of cloudy water, remove floaters and most sunflower seeds, soak 8-16 hours, rinse thoroughly again, spread on screen or pan and let surface water evap until slightly dry, fill quart jars 3/4 full and PC for 2hrs 10lbs pressure, let cool overnight.
Knocked them up with my SS from earlier.
Long wait to full colonization about a month or more I'd say...I'm bad at keep time tables...I never planned on posting so didnt think it necessary. Assuming it took long due to temp fluctuations..we had anywhere from low 40's to 70's during this time and my place isn't well insulated.
10 days ago I spawned to bulk. I used CVG pasteurized (if that's the right term) using the basic bucket tek, put all ingredients in bucket and dump boiling water on it, let sit till cool with lid on. I used a 2:1 sub-spawn ratio so 4 3/4 quarts of spawn to about 8 quarts CVG.
It has been consolidating for 10 days and I noticed alot of what i assume are hyphal knots...which is a precursor to pinning if I'm not mistaken...so I decided to fruit them today...I've noticed mine doesnt look anywhere near as white or "consolidated" as most pics I've seen on here. So my questions to you are
Should I have left them to consolidate more? Is my lack of consolidation due to temp fluctuations or simply old spores or genetics? Does everything look good? What should I do next time? I'll try adding more pics if need be.
This pic is 2 days b4 I fruited

Same spot but current

I think your fine too. It's looking kinda brown but upon closer examination you can see tendrils of myc running through the brown.
It's colonized enough.

Rub looks good in the pics, a month is a long time for colonization...
I kind of suspect too wet/bacterial infection ... it's knotted, so you'll likely see fruit

Beat me back before edit lol... I'd definitely give it some air, but if the poly isn't taped on the outside... it's in fruiting conditions... many of us are introducing fruiting conditions at spawn in unmodified tubs with the lid flipped... just gotta watch moisture...

You dont think the cold had anything to do with slow colonization? Hasnt shown any other signs of contamination.
So my CVG might be too wet? I did dunk the grains for 15 min b4 adding to substrate.
When squeezing the CVG after hydrating it I did have a good amount of run off...more then a drip or two. Which from what I understand was on the wet side of what some people call "field capacity". I figured it good bc my place is preety dry normally.

Could have... it'll fruit looks like
Better to spawn on the dry side, and hydrate once colonized IMO

Update! I've got pins! They've seemed to concentrate around the edges of the tub..I've got huge clusters closer to the tub wall and the middle has less pins. Any ideas why? Also I've seen what looks like the veils breaking away from the pins? I'll try to get a pic up but what would cause this? Or am I being paranoid haha. Cant wait to showcase the harvest with you all!

Just before harvest!
For my first mono I'm preety proud!
Had alot of clusters around the edges of the tub..not too sure why..maybe still not enuff FAE that's reaching the middle of the tub.
Well see how the 2nd flush goes...I opted to twist and pull the fruits rather then cut at the base. So now i have craters in the sub but well see how it goes! More updates coming!

Yummy!
I read somewhere on the forum that twisting and pulling isn't good because it damages the mycelium and makes it more prone to contamination. Hope you have better luck than that.
How much did that flush weigh in at?

Yeah I've read that too. But this being my first mono when I went to harvest I was kinda intimidated and didnt know where to start haha. So I made the decision and just twist and pulled. A few bigger clusters did pull alot of sub out so it was a little disappointing. Next time I'll try cutting at the base and well see the difference!
I didnt weigh it wet and they're finishing drying up right now so I'll have to get back to you on total weight.

 So I fucked up...haha
I was lifting the sub to get some side fruits and it broke. But I discovered there were a TON of pins on the bottom. Made a mistake and a good discovery!
I woke today to find more fruits on the bottom pushing the sub up..so I decided I'm going to flip the sub today and see what happens!

It'll be fine... need to work on proper surface conditions for fuller pinset: but you got fruit!

Should I not flip and just get a good misting for it? Or dunk and go for the second flush? Not sure of my best options right now...I figured I'd flip it since theres a bunch of growth on the bottom. What do you think?

If it's pinning on the bottom, I'd flip and dunk for an hour or so

Little update!
That corner chunk I broke off fruited a very nice cluster! After this I tossed it so it wouldn't contaminate anything.

I didnt flip or dunk the rest of the sub. I just misted heavily after harvesting the fruits on the bottom. It's now spent and I have got a good 3oz out of it! Had a great first run of bulk and learned alot. Mostly to not fuck with the process and let it be haha.
I got a few bigger fruits and some cool mutants too! This guy weighed in at 2.3g dried!
Cool cap mutation!
