Mescaline dosages - how to get the right amount

Let's say a first timer to mescaline wanted to take things slow, since a mescaline trip seems to last a very long time would it be possible to space out doses to get to the desired level of intoxication? Like, for example. Take a amount, wait an hour and see how you feel then dose again to get further into the trip than before.

My major concern with mescaline is it is very hard to determine how much you have taken, as the amount of mescaline per individual cacti varies a lot depending on a heap of factors. So I was thinking this may be a way to semi control the intake.

Also, is there any negative affects of having cacti juice other than nausea? Like is there anything else bad in there that can cause harm? Thanks.

If you spaced out your doses you'd end up tripping longer. Even with tea the come up can take an hour and a half or more. From my experience with the cactus, I'd say don't worry about doing too much. When I went for 18" of Bridgesii it got me as stoned as I have ever been. I mean fuckin' blasted! Even at a heavy dose the mescaline doesn't produce that edgy, panicky feeling that mushrooms or LSD can give you. It's very slow and sleepy. You'll like it.

I agree that mescaline comes on so slow already, that spacing your doses out will make it take even longer


However I remember reading in pihkal, Shulgin says that to minimize nausea with pure mescaline, you can split your dose in two halves one hour apart.

When I ate my crude cactus tar I ate my dose slowly over the course of over an hour. I had stomach pain but I never threw up. I bet if it was pure mescaline there would have been no stomach pain either. I think this may work though. The second time I tried it, I ate them more quickly, and I had severe stomach pain that forced me to lie down during the peak. And intense out of body feelings upon lying down and closing my eyes, like flying through space.

The high is much more mentally lucid and relaxed than acid, physically though you can get pretty stimulated. The only problem is the stomach thing, that’s the only real reason I haven’t done it since. I’d like to do a real extraction one day but I never have the time these days to go about manufacturing schedule 1 substances :lol:


I did try mixing it with a small amount of mushrooms a couple times. Like 1-1.5 grams mushrooms with an unknown amount of cactus tar. It actually worked out really well - the overal character of the trip was pure mescaline but the mushrooms did a lot to potentiate a smaller amount of cactus  and kick in the visuals where there would have been none. I bet this would work great with a half a hit of acid (or even less maybe)  too, though I never tried it. That way you don’t have to eat so much cactus, because the more you eat, the more your stomach is going to let you know how it feels throughout the trip. Of course this isn’t a pure mescaline experience, but I think it retains that euphoric anxiolytic feeling if the other drug is in a low enough dose not to overpower it.

Thanks for the tips, thats a good idea about spacing it out, I imagine bad stomach pains and a sick feeling would make the trip not quite as enjoyable as it could be. Best to take things slow, especially for a first timer!

Would be fun to combine multiple things too haha, when I get well antiquated with the individuals first :wink:
