If you want you can take out your biggest fruit every 2hours or so from the dehydrator and check its weight. When it's stable for the last 2-4hours the full batch is done.

Take most of the moisture out with a dehydrator or fan. Then finish by putting them in a container with a desiccant like Damp Rid to get that last bit of moisture out, making sure the shrooms don't touch the desiccant by putting them in some crumpled up paper or something. Then store the mushrooms, but not desiccant, an airtight mason jar.

I know everyone loves dehydrators and shits on dessicants, but dehydrators simply can't get shrooms as bone dry as dessicants can.

Lol what that's not true at all.

Dehydrators are the most efficient way to dry mushroom period for the average grower.

It is absolutely true. I have a top rated dehydator, and there's always a tiny bit of moisture left. Mateah mentioned the same problem. They don't get every last bit of moisture out. desiccant does. That last bit of moisture makes a big difference for long term storage. Maybe people don't notice because they never tried finishing with desiccant.

People around here just like to parrot shit everyone else says with no experience in the alternatives. Just like with PMPs. I'm growing perfect Panaeolus specimens with them.

Anyway, I don't need dehydrators because I've moved on to superior mushrooms like Paneolus that dry easy as fuck. They take maybe 12 hours to dry with just a plain fan, then are finished in a desiccant chamber.

Maybe because of environmental conditions. Other than that i dont see how something thats blasted at 165 for 48 hours doesnt dry it completely.

That being said i use silica packets post drying just in case. This is food you kno.

Seems 2 lightly spread trays in a presto is around 8-12 np. Fully loaded or thick fruits 16+ for me. :justdontknow:

165*f for 18-36 hours and then I throw them in gallon mason jars. No desiccant for me.
