Looks like they almost aborted but kept growing. Split caps where the damage is. Happened to me one time too.

Cool dude! Me too usually... though sometimes I'll tea half and mix the other half in pb and make a half sandwich with it... best of both worlds: quick come up AND longevity!

Think these are ready?

Gotta say I'm pretty proud of these clone cultures.(my first ) I'm kinda favoring the C2 on the right but the two C1 have some fat clusters.

Also want to add that these were fruited with the lid on.(unsnapped) APE and shoeboxes are a great match.

Those can all go a bit longer and you should definitely pour a little water near the clusters (or bottom water) APE for sure. They're thirsty and can handle it. I'd harvest when the caps are bluer and moist and the stipe is slightly wrinkly. If you push on the cap, it should tilt and angle downward a little. This is about the longest I'd ever let them go:

For comparison, I think these could go at least another 24 hours:

But it's not the worst if you harvest them now, either.

I usually like to bottom water mid flush, but these subs didn't pull away like some of the others. Still pretty new to grain,so getting the feel.
Next chance I'll have to harvest them is in about 16 hrs,and it's late,so I think I'm gonna take your advice and let them ride til then. Thanks!

Right on. You should clone some if you haven't already. The majority of my APE grows were second flush from mature fruits, to be honest. I didn't notice a huge difference in their performance beyond it took less G2G expansions to notice senescence.

Those were clones from my first MS APE back in July/August. They don't resemble the parent clones much(multiple genetics in ms fruit?),but I like some of what I see in these. So,I'll be grabbing a few clones from here as well.

Right on. Be careful with cloning clones as the cell lines are much more degraded, although it's not as bad as others say. Solid grows, brother. I'm about to bust out some APE again.

Funny, that swab came from the parent tub of these.
Well, got back a bit later than planned, but I think these look just right.
Off to harvest. I'll update with a wet weight in a bit. Thanks again all!

Update:

 785g wet total.

Nice and solid.
Gonna have to run the dehydrator at LEAST 48 hrs on this batch.

I second that apes and shoeboxes were made for eachother! Perfect match.

48 hours? Do you live in a swamp or does that thing suck? 8-12 hours is fine for me and I've definitely harvested over 5oz dry of APE with a similar dehydrator (my estimate for yours is 59.66, just for fun). Perhaps you already know, but APE doesn't get "cracker dry" in the sense of regular fruits where you bend and it snaps/shatters. It kinda stays soft and flakey on the inside.
