Hey folks!
Got lost and found some possible Gymopilus clusters.
Can someone with more experience please take a shot at it? I'd really love a print if they are, a couple clusters were knocked over and some were partially eaten but I might be able to get one
Sorry about the shitty photos
Thanks!!

Gymnopilus Validipes maybe?

An animal had gotten to these right before I got there, probably a squirrel , they love knocking stuff over for no reason. Saw some pins though so I'm gunna go back in a couple days

Was able to get a few decent prints which is what I was looking for.
As far as bruising goes, I didn't really see much immediate staining after breaking/squeezing them like I do with Cubes, but when I took them out of the fridge today I think I see some green at the tops where I sliced the caps off Is that the sort of bruising to look for next time ? Or is it usually more prominent

Great find! I would call them Gymnopilus Junonius, but in my area it's often hard to tell, because a lot of the Gymns here seem to borrow features from both Junonius and Luteus.
Edit: Yes that is the bruising you are looking for. Bruising or not, these Gymns are active. No need to overdose with the 10-grams claim, I've gotten great trips off of these with just 5 grams dried in a tea

Nice find.
I thought Gyms could only fruit off of logs/stumps

There was a lot of rotting wood in the soil in this spot, so I think that was why these where growing there.
Also rotting logs, stumps, tree roots etc often fall apart and get buried/otherwise concealed
