A little over 8 1/2 years later, and I have spawn bags going again. At least 4 will be in tubs this weekend, if the others finish recovering from the shake, they will also be in tubs. All the same PE clone.

Does everyone here use plastic presterilized petri-dishes. All I ever see are plastic looking with those ridges to seat the top better.
Is there a reason to do plastic other than being hassle free and mushrooms loving the f out of plastic
Is it the shape being better with no imperfections that allow airflow?

Presterilized petris seem expensive and hard to come by compared to plastic jars with home-made agar. What would be the upside to it?

Pouring your own plates... I buy cases of 500 for roughly 20 cents a piece... worth it not having to sterilize, or do hard to handle no pours... easier to work with IMO

I've been super excited with these APE clones.(2 on left are the same, right is a diff APE clone) These are my very first clone cultures that have been put to fruit. (same cultures were mixed and used for the outdoor box)

The cost of a bag of weed gets you a case of dishes enough to last months. Seems like a no brainer to me.

I think heβs talking about the plastic Petri dishes that come ready and you just have to pour agar in them. I donβt think they are reusable. You canβt PC them.

Here we are, day 4 of pinning. This PESA-PE culture has some really funky traits. The pinning time is honestly the craziest to me. I have already picked two fruit I'm cloning, that fatty that's been there since day 1 and one from the cluster to the lower centerish side of picture. I'm also genuinpy surprised at this cultures ability to colonize that coir even through its still pinning. I feel like I might get 2 flushes before problems occur.
Also I am getting almost no blobs, there is only one area I found that is going to blob and only 1 blob knot is showing, though there are a couple sideways pins that will probably blob next to it. Other than that this culture has a fucking amazing story behind it and I hope I can get some good prints out for my mush fam. This has been a really fun project for me and shout out to PsiloPsychIn for choosing me to be one of the first to fiddle with this, I'm sorry for slow results but hopefully some really good genetics come from this tub and my questionable work

I use glass petri dishes. But it's very clear you guys use plastic. Was just wondering why.
