My thoughts on where the aliens are at * 1
    #25524799 - 10/09/18 04:09 PM (5 years, 7 months ago)

I think aliens are out there and we don't hear from them because they are cloaked and vigilant. They are awaiting imminent competition from us and seeing how far we advance. Once we reach a technological threshold they are going to wipe us out. Its dubious how far we are going to go and they may even have better things to do lol. Its kind of suspicious that we have the capability to understand the center of the galaxy but when we look for intelligent life, nothing but crickets chirping. Nature is merciless and its all about Darwinian survival of the fittest. Its a joke they would want to shake hands or " drink ayahuasca together" as Daniel Pinchbeck thinks! They could even be wary of other intelligences. Just an idea

Why would they be waiting for us to reach an "imminent threshold?" That doesn't make fit with the Darin-esque survival of the fittest hypothesis you're proposing.

If aliens were aware of us and felt at all like we are or could be a threat they would just wipe us out or otherwise 'handle' us.  That's one of the scariest things about the possibility of other life.  If its advanced enough to know about us and we are not aware of them it means for SURE they are so far ahead of us that we would stand zero chance.  We would be like like ants or bacteria are to us...

My hope is if they are out there they have advanced enough to be beyond the need for any sort of warfare or control methods and they will enlighten our species instead.  Nature is raw and gives no fucks though so it's a lot more likely they would see us from a cold and calculating viewpoint and adjust our species accordingly.  Who knows if they will have anything representing the morals we have, since morals are just human constructs based on our own survival and grouping instincts.

Humans are more spiritually advanced than intellectually and morally advanced. We have spiritual power, the power to alter the quantum memory pool and affect things in star systems light years away from us instantly.

But we're not intelligent enough or morally developed enough to control these things. So we got their attention.

When aliens evolve to a certain point, two things happen, intelligence increase and spiritual increase. Sometimes only the intelligence.

In Star Trek, theres something called "The Prime Directive" which states a more advanced species should not interfer with a lesser advanced species.

And thats basically whats happening right now. Couple catch and release abductions, couple of animal abduction, couple UFO sightings.

Youre close OP but not quite there.

Perhaps only one intelligent species can inhabit the universe at any given time.

So the entire Universe is sterile except Earth?

For the time being...maybe sentience is transferred to a receiving intelligent species as another goes extinct, similar to reincarnation. I don’t believe it to be the case.  I think it’s just that the universe is vast, our tech for observation is currently low and I would bet civilizations are kind of rare.

U even have to keep in mind curiosity and discover always have ulterior motives- intelligent beings exploit everything they discover! Its the " free floating rationale" of curiosity! Its could be why we are curious of their existence to begin with right now. Besides getting in their way, we would become a nuisance. Alien tech would be sought for and looted like an ark of the covenant if we ever reach them ( and we would be trying of course!)

They wouldn't be actually waiting. We don't sit around waiting for chimps to become technologically advanced. Why waste time and resources if we would end up self destructing is my point

If u want to observe exotic tech, hang around near nuclear facilities, remote military bases or just watch the sky in the middle of the night. You are bound to see something exotic with a large amount of patience.

Its really a timing thing. Takes time and luck to even sight just one exotic ship/object.

Its kinda like mushroom hunting. Lots of inactives but every once in a while, u hit that psychedelic gold.

Cool video.

My favorite part was at around 11:30, Richard Dawkins says:

"You look around island continents and ask "How similar are they?" ....Perhaps we shouldn't write off the possibility that the
Hollywood aliens are not that unimagitative. my college argues that they would most likely be bi-pedal, big brained, language-toting,
hand-toting, forward-looking eyes for stereoscopy."

He is so spot on. The reason why images of aliens in Hollywood are human-like/humanoid is that most aliens that contact people who are abducted have those basic characteristics.

100 YEARS AGO WE WERE ON HORSE N CARTS AND IN COAL MINES LETS NOT FORGET WE ARE A VERY EARLY SPECIES, ITS JUST BEGUN

AN ALIEN WUD BE LIKE GOING AND TALKING TO A APE OR A ANT ITS PRETTY POINTLESS, WUD YOU GO AND TALK TO AN ANT?

The "X" factor is Lineage thou. Shared ancestors. Ancient aliens. Because we are a young species, we have interacted with old species that came before us.
