Half of us were all working on our dad's car before we were even teenagers. If a bunch of dumbass 11 year olds can do it, a female can do it. People like to think there's some obscure, complex artform behind their job or interest, but most of the time it's just a mundane set of skills that anyone could learn given the time. I don't think we're going to be seeing a "males only, females need not apply" sign on a mechanics door anytime soon.

Yeah you do not want me fixing your car or motorcycle either. I'm alright with bicycles though.

I tend to think that if some women are able to understand the complex interplay between the human body's systems well enough to become MDs, the workings of automobiles probably are not beyond their comprehension.

But if few women want to be mechanics, I'm not sure that necessarily is a problem that needs to be solved.

There are so many male mechanics that are full of themselves.  Can't admit that they don't know wtf is wrong with a car.

Ok, so let's assume that you can tell by talking to a mechanic whether or not they are an expert. If a mechanic seems otherwise to be an expert but is a woman, is everything good?

If im looking to hire a security guard, i'll look for strong males. If I'm hiring someone to fix my radiator, I'm hiring someone that knows how to fix a radiator.
