About the fogger, I just got back from the pet store and they sell high pressure foggers for under $100 in the reptile section for frog terrariums. One looked like more of a mister, and the other was definitely a fogger.

Finally got me a LI machine - that's what I call it.
Apparently they're called, "Blenders" at the store.

The great thing about this $30 set was that it came with this pour-lid that's pp#5.
Unfortunately the to-go container it came with that said "PP" melted when tested. But at least i gotta lid.

Tried it out last night. We'll see if I was sterile enough.

You just use micropore tape on your lids?!

(I've been too much of a pussy to try that yet. Lol.)
DAMN that would save me some time...
How many layers of tape? Hole size in lids?
Looks like 2" tape...(?)

It's actually a waterproof, breathable band-aid over the hole (3/8") in the lid. Then water resistant, breathable micropore tape (1") over the band-aid. There is also a piece of that tape over the hole on the other side of the lid - inside of the jar. I've done 2 runs in the PC with lids like those and it has worked so far.  :bandana:</font></font>

THANKS!

I'm going to have to try that out.

Tools:

Easy to obtain soluble nutrients for various purposes (ignore the plant and yeast label). Can be used for enrichment and testing.
Can be added to nutritionally bland substrates, such as wood or paper, to agar, to liquid cultures, and more.

These items where picked from the shelf without any bias towards branding or the fact they are salts.
If you wish to read more, plus the science data, you will find it in my pocket guide.

----

The above nutrients contain no sugar sources, and extremely trace amounts of carbon.
They must be applied to a viable carbon source, e.g. complex cellulose.

----

Experimental, requires knowledge:

Personally I do not suggest adding nutrients to nutritional grain, unless you are being 100% aseptic.

Standard agar recipes should be used, as mentioned, carbon, such as sugar, is needed.
The same goes for liquid cultures, if used. Examples: Honey or malt extract.

You should also be aware of the enzymes that will be used, and the requirements (enzyme composition, pH, temperature, so on).

----

General setup: Clean spawn + nutritional substrate (that doesn't infect easily), optimal pH, temps, so on.

----

I would also like to add K2O and P2O5 are present in straw, grains, the ground, wood, paper, plant ash, fertilizers, animal dung, plus more.

The same can be achieved with organic instead of salts, however, amounts, price and the requirement to sterilize, increases costs.
Organic fertilizers usually contain several types of bacteria, which unless required, ideally should be eliminated by heat.

If the additive has the required nutrients, check it can be used in drink or food making (beer, vegetables).

Tip: Test small amount of substrates, usually enough to fill a 125-250ml container is good.

Are these two separate contraptions?
A humidi-tub fogger and a steamer/pasteurizer?
Or is this all one unit and way over my head....

@TDog

I think you mean adapt, not mutate, mutate is considered undesired, such as odd shapes or unusual formation of fruit bodies.
In addition I don't like the reference 'chemical' for a formation of essential macro-micro nutrients and vitamins.

This would mean any man made A-Z vitamins would be a tablet full of 'chemicals', rather than 'nutrients'.
There is a high chance these essential elements are extracted from food-plant sources.

Use any desired mixture of nutrients you prefer (even organic versions).

----

In addition:

When mycelium and other organisms decay proteins, they produce ammonia-other, and in animals also urea.
Chlorine, regardless of what is said, is a micro-nutrient, and can be fixated to ammonia, and more.

Ammonium-chloride produced more growth than Ammonium-sulfate and urea (Web).

Material cycling in ecosystems (Web).
Nitrogen cycle (Wiki, Images).
Nitrogen balance (Wiki).

Thanks.

It would be interesting to do multispore inoculations on a spawn material with added nutritional matter that will be in the bulk substrate just to see what colonizes faster out of the genetics.

I think I will start putting that supercake in to some of my extra jars. I still have so much of the stuff. lol.

Whats with the duct on that big steamer liloldme? It is a steamer right? I figured you would steam pasteurize stuff inside of it with how large it is.
