In the Martha MacCallum interview on Fox News the week before the hearing, he said much the same thing: “And yes, there were parties. And the drinking age was 18, and yes, the seniors were legal and had beer there. And yes, people might have had too many beers on occasion.” (The reference to the drinking age wasn’t meant to suggest he was drinking legally, rather to explain the ready availability of the beer.)

He said he didn't get blackout. You can't prove otherwise. Neither can his college friends. Yes, you can prove he drank beer, which is legal.

Most people do not abuse alcohol the way kavanaugh did. He had an alcohol problem. He wasn’t a saint. Downplaying his past demonstrates his lack of character. He says he liked beer. He says he still likes beer. Does that mean he’s still getting drunk on a weekly basis? That would certainly disqualify him from serving as a judge in my book.
