I've never used cakes like that but the slow progress doesn't sound good to me.

I was under the impression it would take around 4 weeks, maybe I’ll give it another couple of weeks and see how it goes

It can take 2 months if water content is off in either direction... let them fully colonize, wait a week, and then birth... that's slow for 2 weeks, may be your syringe... are you using the SAB and delete sterilizing without wiping afterwards?

Little kitty litter box, 1:2 ratio. Not super great but I think im getting the better understanding of it. was growing a bit slow so bottom watered being there was so many pins and glad I did. Sucked up the 1/4 cup I added, few aborts and tight ass clusters with 2 side pins. Also had no lid so had to use a clear 24 quart one over it, then a bag to keep the surface conditions up better.

Didn't think I would have to take out the chef knife bods style so soon. Just don't have the time anymore with my attention needed elsewhere.

Germinating like this at 2 weeks isn't that uncommon. Older spores can take more time.
Right now the growth looks alright, just took some extra time to germinate. If it finishes in about 3 weeks from now and looks normal, you're fine.
I'm more concerned about your container. As long as it's not tightly sealed and you don't mess with that verm layer, you can make it work. It looks tightly closed, which will stifle GE and slow everything down. or are there 4 holes I can't see in the lid?

I had them in fairly cold & dark area so potentially that didn’t help. The container is worrying me a bit too, was tempted to take someone’s advice and throw it away but it’s my first attempt and I wanted to try and make it work if possible. The lid is tight down, I lifted it to inject the spores then pressed it down tightly, should I loosen it a little?
Thanks to everyone’s replies, any help is greatly appreciated

If you can carefully unsnap it. You're gonna need to be extremely careful not to shake they dry verm around. If it gets churned up they're screwed.
Another possibility is get a nail red hot and carefully melt 4 holes in the lid without going into the verm layer much.
The cold, dark and lack of air all add to the slow development.

Ah damn, I’ll move them into a slightly warmer & brighter area now. For the container I could attempt to melt the 4 holes however would the water be a bit much? If it’s in a hotter area would that potentially solve the water issue combined with the holes? Cheers guys

12/12 lighting has been shown beneficial to mycelium through all stages of growth from spore to spent... 65-75 is suitable... mushrooms and mycelium are aerobic organisms that require oxygen for healthy growth, they need air yes... opened it and injected spores? IN OPEN AIR!?
We generate spawn in sterile conditions so that we have a healthy living culture present that has a chance to colonize the substrate before contaminant spores have a chance to germinate and grow to be an issue... we spawn bulk in open air and thus our substrate is full of contaminants from that day forward... CLEAN SPAWN is the most important factor IMO... throwing spores into substrate is asking for wasted resources and time

I don't see a water problem in those small containers and no it wouldn't fix it.
Although if you opened them to inject without a SAB, then those things are already toast and just not showing it like caps suggests. I have no idea if you used a SAB or not.

Lids have been cracked and lessons have been learnt. Thanks for your words of wisdom, I did rush into this but hey I learnt something along the way. Next time should be better hopefully. The big container looks a little... f***** to be honest.

Small containers lids have been cracked and I shall hope they work a little better in a better room.
(Apologies to everyone who knows what they’re doing and has to witness this)
