Id request - Trail finds
    #25499926 -

Species 1:

Found growing on the ground in N.Texas.

The Gill color is light purple maybe pink.

The stem is short at 2" and there were tiny roots dangling from the bottom.

The cap color was light brown in the center and it faded to gray towards the outside.

Spore print color: Light colored spore print.

No bruising that I saw.
.

Species 2:

Found growing on the ground.

These white ball looking things were slightly bigger than a golf ball.
I did not pick them or slice into them so I'm not sure what color they are
on the inside.

As always, Thanks!

First one is likely Cortinarius sp.

Second one looks like Vascellum curtisii.

Cortinarius would display a rust/brown spore print and have a cortina around the stipe. The collection shown displays a white/buff spore print and no cortina.

I think the first could perhaps be a Lepista.

I didn't even notice the spores in the last pic.
Thanks for the correction.

1st is not cortinarius but it is clitocybe nuda, cortinarius has a rusty brown print,  clitocybe nuda has a pinkish white print.

Edit: Clitocybe nuda and Lepista nuda are the same species, for those who don't know.

I'm hoping to find some of these this season.

You weren't wearing gloves for mushroom hunting were you?

I was thinking about gloves while handling possible gallerinas. I haven't checked if any of its toxins are transdermal.

Those that know their mushrooms say...[...] Amanita.

The mosquitoes are so bad in Texas I have to wear gloves when I go mushroom hunting.  I'm also wearing a mosquito net that goes over my head to keep them off my face too.  I'm not sure if you can get toxic stuff on your hands after handling poisonous mushrooms... I don't know, good question.

Mushrooms will only poison you if you eat several grams, they have to enter the gastrointestinal tract to be poisonous.
