Yeah I do believe what I want.

You expect me to believe what you want..?

Its based on my personal opinion which is based on two things.

1) what I have studied
2) What I have learned through direct experience which in many cases was the same stuff religions talk about.

Are you aware that ancient cave men had cave paintings of mushrooms labeled the "flesh of god" ? Is this circumstantial evidence...?

"Ancient cave men" Your referring to the Nahuatl as ancient cavemen? And using their term for psilocybe mushrooms (cave paintings, lol) as evidence that Christianity, lessimores religion, was formed from consumption of psychedelics?

Please, my man. This aint the place to get into a historical argument. Take less mushrooms and base yourself a bit more in reality, rather than making assumptions off of your own experiences, and a seemingly very poor understanding of the history you claim to research.

No, i wasn't referring to the Aztecs.

I was referring to ancient cave paintings.

Christianity was formed long before Jesus. It is built on borrowed tales.

I could care less if you laugh at me.

You know little of my experiences.

Eat less mushrooms... ? Maybe you should eat more.

What is reality? Besides a construct of your mind.

I made no assumptions. Only discoveries.

Show me to the ancient cave paintings you refer to that were directly translated to mean "flesh of god" in the language of the "cavemen". I don't need to hear the whole Zeitgeist spiel about borrowed tales, it's natural with regional religions and has nothing to do with the claim that it was thought up by people taking psychedelics.

Show me the facts boiii! I got a degree in this shit biyotch, I worked my ass off so that I can be pretentious in one subject and talk about it constantly like a douche bag. And I've taken plenty of mushrooms and plenty of strips of acid in my day. I've had those god experiences. Doesn't mean that it's how Christianity, or any Abrahamic religion, was formed.

dissing it?

I have studied many different religions for years. It is actually something I am very passionate about and what a great deal of my time has been devoted to.

I have had experiences that I believe are the same exact experiences that led those who documented their beliefs for others to document their belief for others.

There is nothing disrespectful about claiming that psychedelics are the origin of religion.

I believe religion is the absolute highest form of wisdom to ever grace man.

That doesn't mean I agree with every word a christian has to offer, or every word interpreted by the layman of ancient text.

I have had visions of reincarnation, I have had visions of man walking along the path of endless life with the flames of hell beneath him.

I have felt what it is to fall from the grace of God and face the suffering of endless punishment until the lesson is learned.

There are words in religious text which I have pondered for years, believing i knew their meaning, only to directly experience the lesson in an altered state of consciousness on psychedelics when their true meaning was illuminated to me.

It is because of these types of experiences that I believe what I believe.

I can't even believe anyone would ever try and argue that psychedelic substances are the origin of religion and spirituality, when as far back as religious and spiritual ceremonies go, psychedelics are to be found.

They are the catalyst.

Bro, you confused the Nahuatl language with cave paintings, refused to give any evidence supporting your claim that Christianity was formed through hallucigenics aside from saying "I take hallucigenics and have felt stuff they talk about". That aint good enough. I could go on and on about this, but a mod would shut this down in a heartbeat. I shouldn't have brought it up. Just stop spreading sensationalized and naïve pseudohistory and attempting to discount someone with your unsubstantiated theories about their religion.

I ate pan cyans before I knew what they were. Just 2 little grams. What transpired was
basically something so intense I can't even put it into words. Like I was stuck in sequence
from Hellraiser for 4 hours. I could not close my eyes. I mean I could but whatever was going on in my head
was the same thing as going on outside of it. It was horrible.

When the come down started I was flooded with so much relief, I cried.

Didn't trip for 2 years after that.

That is what a bad trip is like.

So one time I ate like... A half o of mushrooms and thought I talked to god and had the time if my life... Then I took a shit and a bath. I thought I was drowning and proceeded to roll around on a wooden floor wishing the trip would just fucking end. (8 hours tripping hard from start to finish)

I'm going to walk the high road with you.

I never tried to convince you of my beliefs, more so defended them against your attack when you claim I can believe what I want but want to cry and throw a fit like a little girl on her period when you read something you don't like

Psychedelics are the origin of religion.

Have a nice night

I base my claims on religion off of dedicating my life to pursuing a career in the field, getting an associates degree in theology, then bachelors in archaeology and classical antiquity, then masters in archaeology, then years of working as a historical interpreter and conservationist, and I didn't go through all that shit so that some shroom head on the internet can make false claims about "cavemen" religions, false claims about the Aztecs, refuse to acknowledge the fact that he got the facts wrong, and then tried to use his one and only piece of evidence supporting his claim, as the fact that he's got high before and felt something similar.

Basing your belief of the origins of the most influential ideology of all time, off of absolutely nothing, and peppering in downright made up and fumbled over claims to poorly try and justify why you challenged someones religion to their face and gave nothing to back it up but your inflated ego. If you're going to have a completely misguided and unsubstantiated opinion and refuse to give any evidence to support it, don't present it as fact. Maybe just keep it to yourself until you do actual research. Like I said, pretty important to a lot of eople. Not something some burnout hippie should be slandering just in passing while telling people to take drugs more often.

The second time I took 5g of cubes I threw up in the toilet and it was red. I thought I was dying. (turns out it was the spicy Cheetos I ate earlier in the day). Later when I went back in the bathroom and saw the red I thought I killed someone and left the blood in the bathroom. Next I started having delusions that I was insane and in a mental hospital. I was very paranoid and thought it would never end.

Cant tell if this is serious or not but ill bite.

To me, a bad trip can include all or any combination of the following:
  • Thought loops that seem to never end

  • Time dilation so extreme that makes you feel like you're trapped (similar to thought loops)

  • Believing that you have actually gone insane and will never return to "normal consciousness" again

  • Feeling like you shouldnt have taken the drug and you are a drug addict for doing so

  • Nausea

  • Physical DISCOMFORT while in the midst of a vision/stream of hallucinations

  • Anxiety about anything and everything preventing you from relaxing

  • Fighting the experience that it becomes a test of survival/getting through it

  • Being unable to talk/communicate to another person

  • Intense sadness

  • Truths/perspectives that are contradictory and/or difficult to accept without experiencing intense emotional pain

  • General confusion/lack of attention span

  • Remembering past traumas and unsuccessfully understanding/accepting them causing the individual to "slide" into a negative headspace

  • Overwhelming fear of the unknown

Did i miss anything? Some of these may lead to a positive outcome but this is the nature of the beast.

I have experienced everything above. I removed a few and slightly changed a few to fit my experience, but pretty much I've experienced everything on your list.
I don't really think of myself as ever having experienced a bad trip though.

I guess in my head a bad trip is some unimaginable nightmare, something that you couldn't experience sober, besides the one point that inherently requires drugs, I've experienced all of those things a great deal and with great intensity while sober.

Like st1llnox said, it seems that a truly bad trip leaves a lasting impression on people. The friend I tripped with for the first time had a bad experience and it took him a few months. I've never experienced any lasting trauma at all. Once the trip is over, it stops being uncomfortable and I'm back to normal.

OP I appreciate the question. I am curious too.

I think anyone seriously studying Entheogens, spirituality and religion will come to the conclusion that Entheogens were the original catalyst for the creation of many things, including religion. Believe it or not, but it makes perfect sense to me because i've had the experiences and gained the understanding necessary to know for sure that this is the answer, there is no other answer or logical explanation, it all originated with the Entheogens, much more so than people would like to admit. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there, look deeper, and you will learn/understand.
