Honestly this is the fastest growth I've had. I did some G2G with the spawn as well to keep this myc going, it colonizes so fast. I agree it's a little dry but i'll just mist as needed

Iβd rather have it dry than too wet too! For the first time, I can actually say I had a tub fail in nearly 6 years due to me not paying attention. My bucket of coir is literally soaked in standing water. I must have been high as fuck to not notice such a discrepancy.
Looking good! Keep us posted.

A tad dry yes big once its colonized u can always give it a good bottom water or something like he said better dry then wet

Will be misting on first day of colonization then allowing for FAE to dry it out.
Also updated only 6 hours later and noticeable growth. At this rate, I think it'll be fully colonized tomorrow

Yeah it's like every 6 hours there's noticeable growth. I started 2 more trays and a tub with the same proportions of spawn, coir, and water. Excited to see this journey with pure coir instead of adding verm or gypsim.

9 hour update looking zesstttyyyyy. Just a week until fruiting by the looks of things. Monotub is already showing mycelium. I packed the two other trays with a little more coir to bulk up the sub an extra half inch. Let's see what happens.

Would you recommend making a slit in the bottom, and allowing it to sit in a small Tupperware with an inch of water in it for an hour or two? Not familiar with bottom watering

I wouldnβt dunk it as of yet, but if youβve done a heavy misting, that should be sufficient. You can always bottom water after itβs finished colonizing to give it a little boost moving forward. There should be just enough water that the mycelium soaks it up within 24 hours. Thatβs how I go about it as I donβt like standing water with my sub.

Okay I'll wait, updated pic. Looks like the mycelium is starting to consolidate it's getting thicker. I am guessing my misting may have affected the growth, slowing it down.

How much did you mist? Because I donβt notice much of a change. I think your mycelium is slowing down because itβs dry. Maybe get a second opinion, but thatβs what it seems like to me. Also did you mist the perlite or did you mist the tray?

What he said. The perlite needs to be basically soaked without any dripping so heavily misted. I meant mist the surface from 2 feet away 3 or 4 times. Dry sub will slow growth and yes you can see a steady up tick in colonization speeds once hydration is resumed.

Added an updated pic. Here's some bonus trays starting to peek out, growth looks super cool on these guys too. Spikey little garden They are 72 hours old, deeper substrate levels then the last tub to see if that improves yield.

I think I did mist it a little to much at first, plus the FAE wasn't adequate causing aerial myc and the matting you see. I left the lid cracked overnight allowing it to evaporate.

Whole oat, 1:1 ratio. Frankly, I was a little uneven with the measurement on this one tray I was tipsy when spawning. It was ~1:1 ratio but if I had to bet there's a little less spawn to sub.

Sorry Iβve been out and about. Probably slightly overmisted as Caps pointed out but thatβs ok, I like to do that anyways sometimes just to encourage more FAE and subsequently more pins, IME. Looking good!

Misting doesn't cause FAE... it causes Rh... which with adequate FAE, causes evaporation... but I wouldn't suggest over-saturating the substrate and matting the surface for it... if it's drying too quickly to maintain with light mistings, tighten up the FAE to slow evaporation and (IME) you'll get better results

What I meant was I will overmisting at the very beginning of fruiting and set it in open air, let it knot up really hard, and then do a light mist throwing it into regular conditions. This just works for me and my environment. In no way did I mean to imply that misting would cause FAE.

See, no worries. I know itβs hard to wait, especially if you only have one or two trays but as Caps said, sometimes ignoring it is the best thing you can do. Bottom watering can also help if things are too dry. Looks good.

From this view they look maybe a little skinny. Give more FAE. If thatβs tape on the holes, take em off.

Yeah I'd say I have 2 more days till harvest. Monotub will have the better timelapse but this one was fun to make. Testing a 4k camera next time.

Harvested and got 5.6 grams dry on first tray, 7 grams on second tray, and third tray is the matted one and its producing some big fucking froots
Second flush coming in now

Monotub is fruiting but I suspect bacteria has taken over a portion of the tub. However pins are everywhere.

Monotub is showing froots everywhere. I do have a timelapse setup so watch for that
I've been messing around with wax paper on a few other trays I have in an identical FC. I want to see if they will create a faster pin set with the micro climent. I'll post pics soon

Awesome video mah dude! It may just be coincidence, but it seems like where the camera's flash was strongest at night caused the pinset to grow larger and put out more fruits, at least in that timelapse it seems like it.

So a few shrooms have spots on the caps. This is grown in an unmodified Monotub using the tek by Bod

I am assuming bacterial, but I'm curious if I can continue this froot and if it will be safe for consumption after being dried.
LOL, I'm over thinking things I think. Some of my other tubs also have spots on the shrooms but they all disappear as the mushroom matures.

The spots are normal when that young,I believe it's just myc. However, I think that's green near the center of the pic. Could just be bluing and the camera distorted the color but I would check that tub out ASAP.

Pic is misleading, the yellow you see is the outside of some of the grains.

Even if it is trich oh well I'll just toss and start a new one.
