Sounds like you're getting a handle on conditions then... just a matter of getting ahead of them now...

Thanks for sharing. What's the ratio of grain spawn to coir that you're using? Also, what kind of spawn: rye, WBS?

Whole oat, 1:1 ratio. Frankly, I was a little uneven with the measurement on this one tray I was tipsy when spawning. It was ~1:1 ratio but if I had to bet there's a little less spawn to sub.

Sorry Iβve been out and about. Probably slightly overmisted as Caps pointed out but thatβs ok, I like to do that anyways sometimes just to encourage more FAE and subsequently more pins, IME. Looking good!

Misting doesn't cause FAE... it causes Rh... which with adequate FAE, causes evaporation... but I wouldn't suggest over-saturating the substrate and matting the surface for it... if it's drying too quickly to maintain with light mistings, tighten up the FAE to slow evaporation and (IME) you'll get better results

What I meant was I will overmisting at the very beginning of fruiting and set it in open air, let it knot up really hard, and then do a light mist throwing it into regular conditions. This just works for me and my environment. In no way did I mean to imply that misting would cause FAE.

I do have the top cracked so it will allow it to start knotting up better.

I "fruit" from spawn... mushrooms and mycelium are aerobic organisms that require oxygen for healthy growth, colonization period with restricted FAE is outdated misinformation and on it's way out

Yup! I started it in fruiting conditions, just needed to dial in the FAE better.

The matted surface hasn't pinned yet. If I dont see pins soon should I consider flipping the substrate?

Just wait... maybe see if the bottom is pinning, but subsequent flushes can take up to a week to start IME... picture?

Of course, my other pans spawned second are pinning. I see some massive knots so I expect some big ones here

Different tray started 4 days later Look at these pins! I suspect a canopy.
Update 1 hour later:
Found pins on all 4 trays! Looks like were gonna have some great pictures tomorrow once they're all big enough to be photographed. Also have a timelapse setup!!
