Yessiree, misted today and going to bottom water after it's fully colonized

Would you recommend making a slit in the bottom, and allowing it to sit in a small Tupperware with an inch of water in it for an hour or two? Not familiar with bottom watering

I wouldn’t dunk it as of yet, but if you’ve done a heavy misting, that should be sufficient. You can always bottom water after it’s finished colonizing to give it a little boost moving forward. There should be just enough water that the mycelium soaks it up within 24 hours. That’s how I go about it as I don’t like standing water with my sub.

Okay I'll wait, updated pic. Looks like the mycelium is starting to consolidate it's getting thicker. I am guessing my misting may have affected the growth, slowing it down.

With that type of growth, you might wanna consider taking a clone if the yield is good

How much did you mist? Because I don’t notice much of a change. I think your mycelium is slowing down because it’s dry. Maybe get a second opinion, but that’s what it seems like to me. Also did you mist the perlite or did you mist the tray?

What he said. The perlite needs to be basically soaked without any dripping so heavily misted. I meant mist the surface from 2 feet away 3 or 4 times. Dry sub will slow growth and yes you can see a steady up tick in colonization speeds once hydration is resumed.

Added an updated pic. Here's some bonus trays starting to peek out, growth looks super cool on these guys too. Spikey little garden They are 72 hours old, deeper substrate levels then the last tub to see if that improves yield.

some Mexicube LC

Looks a little matted... misting heavy? Not at all? Either direction can cause it... at least it's clean!

I think I did mist it a little to much at first, plus the FAE wasn't adequate causing aerial myc and the matting you see. I left the lid cracked overnight allowing it to evaporate.
