Then buy her a diamond from Arkansas Crater of Diamonds public mine state park, or go dig one yourself. The world famous yellow canary diamond came from there.

Hey, when it has to be a diamond, it has to be a diamond, no problem. Authenticity is everything. This also goes for you, with that you say "I love her, I'm not trying to fool her" it shows you don't kid around in getting her exactly what she wants.

A moissanite is a real moissanite as much as a diamond is a real diamond.

But, if she wants a diamond and nothing but and you fool her with a moissanite, you are literally slipping a deceit, a lie, on her finger, and thats a bigger thing than which kind of stone it is or what that stone happened to cost. If she finds out you lied on something that fundamental, she can rightfully ask herself how deep that rabbits hole goes.

Interestingly, you can buy loose diamonds online from the official circuit, such as directly from major Antwerp or Amsterdam (the two main diamond cities) firms, and then have a jeweler fit the loose stone. If you do your homework and play your cards right, this could get you a better deal, meaning a more impressive stone for less, and a narrower spread.

Cut is more importanty than color! If you have a very well cut diamond of a lower color grade its going to look better than a mediocre cut of a higher color grade.

You can also go to tucson in the first half of february during the gem shows and do some real diamond shopping if you know your shit. My mom picked up a really nice large rough diamond at one of the shows a few years ago and had it cut. I sell the very best of the colored gems like tourmaline, aquamarine, sunstone, fire opal, and fire obsidian, but have never owned or sold diamonds.
