One of my wild clone dishes, looks like some bacteria or something and some cobweb mold? Is that what these nasties are? The other dish is looking pretty solid compared to the first one.

I always feel bad cutting the big beauties up. I go ahead and do it anyway. I figure it sometimes just goes with the territory.

Not cube myc... I don't think it's cobweb: that shit runs rampant FAST! definitely some bacteria... did you wash it? Use inner tissue? I have coated stipes from trich tubs with dawn dish soap, and the tissue plates are clean... will make transfers just to get away from the tissue, but really no need
I have found that you can snap one side of the stipe loose from the cap and lay them flat; they dry like lollipops lol

That little fuzzy stuff on the top plate came up super quickly, probably in a few hours it spanned that dish there at least. I used inner tissue, both are from the same deal or whatnot but not a cube for sure its in the ganoderma species I found out in the woodland. My GT tubs have been laid to rest and I wish I had a fresh one about now I want to split that sucker and watch it grow. I have some PE6 and AA++ growing in some other dishes though from spore swabs they haven't done much yet but let me know if you see anything funky on these couple I show ya below.
These are the AA++ swab the poop deckers.

These are the PE6 swablets.

Ps... I see you out there lurk!

Ah I see, is that potentially the mycelium leaping over bacteria?

Before the mycelium starting raising up it spread out quite clear from a single point of origin if I remember correctly. Is that typical or is that something to look out for? Should mycelium always be visible from the very start outward or can it spook outward and then come up? Taking a wedge from the leading edge of any mycelinated area should do me right on a transfer right?

I'd take a very small transfer from the whitest, cleanest leading edge ... maybe even look into a poke (I think josex did a write up)... my clean cultures are white and uniform from wedge to edge

I've been seeing the same thing. Thinking I might be low on nutes. Looks similar to that aa growth.
Can't hurt to take a piece from the edge incase it's contam. I try to let the myc's edge grow some space away from bacteria at the center. No harm in one now and one later.

Bulked sum azzys to wood. Hit sum LC, poured sum dishes, took a shot in the dark and hit a jar of lc directly from print and put a bunch of stuff together. I can get so much more work done now plus my wife finally got her grain and wood prep down perfect so I always have sub to come home to! She even has made me agar before!
