can I easily stay quiet on mushros and not do anything stupid? * 1

I live in one room apartment that has very thin walls and I can hear my neighbors when they talk, I am worried that I might make noises and say weird things, laugh or scream while tripping like some videos I've seen on YouTube. normally I'm very quiet and when I smoke weed I get very quiet but I also get super paranoid sometimes, can I easily stay quiet on shrooms and control myself and not do anything stupid. I'm planning on taking it in silent darkness and lay in bed. what do you guys think?

Laughing uncontrollably can happen on the come up. I remember the first time I took shrooms, I laughed like a maniac for no reason with my brother :lol: Just relax and don't think about making noise and stuff like that. Enjoy your trip :mushroom2:

Hard to say. Laughing, screaming, and saying weird things are definitely a possibility, and can be commonplace during bad trips or even good trips on particularly high doses. I've always been able to control my volume enough to avoid any problems, but there is not telling exactly how you will act. My best advice is to start with a small dose like 2 grams (on which you will almost certainly remain in control of your behavior) and increase gradually on subsequent trips.

i was worried about the same things on my first trip. like you i'm a rather reserved and quiet person by nature, so i was extra worried about being loud or acting up and making my roommates worry.

so i put a sign saying i was tripping on shrooms and not to freak out next to me on my first few trips just in case, since my roommates probably wouldn't freak out if they knew it was shrooms but would if i seemed to be going crazy with no explanation, haha. naturally they wouldn't see the sign at all unless they busted into my room, which wouldn't happen unless i was acting crazy.

turns out i needn't have worried. apparantly i'm just as quiet and reserved tripping as i am sober. :P well, not quite, i was laughing a lot, but it was under my breath sort of laughter, and i was aware of myself enough at all times to know to stay quiet. maybe if you're way out in orbit that might be different, but i've yet to reach that high.

our walls are pretty thin here too, so they could definitely hear me if i was going nuts. if you're really that worried about it, wait till they're gone. maybe pay attention to when they're leaving for work or the like, and just stay calm if you hear them come early. as long as you don't fight the trip and stay relaxed you'll do great. if you see a darker side of yourself, don't try to deny it exists, observe it and try to understand what it's trying to teach you. you may find that that dark corner of your mind is trying to show you how you can improve your life. maybe you're feeling angry about something and are trying to hide that anger or feel guilty about it, and it shows up in your trip. don't pretend that anger doesnt exist, examine why you're angry, if that anger is justified, and what steps you can take to avoid said anger or channel it in a productive manner. (and no, committing murder doesn't count as productive in the long run. :P)

trips seem to be a very personal experience for everyone, but for me, it feels like a river, deep and full of strong currents. flow with the currents and you will feel invigorated and can direct your path while moving forward. fight against it and you will get tossed around and possibly panic.

Outside of laughter you should be able to control yourself. 99% of my trips I am silent (usually because I trip alone)

for me, the larger the dose the quieter i am.  beyond a certain point, i'm completely in my head and mostly unresponsive to people who aren't me.

as far as laughing and carrying on...what business is it of your neighbors as long as it's not in the middle of the night?  seriously, have fun and to hell with the neighbors.  scream, dance, howl, laugh and be the fun you that's hiding inside waiting to be let out.

you didn't read that properly. i put it next to me, not on my door =p. no one's gonna see it unless they bust into my room thinking i'm having a seizure or something. and i do that because my roommates are pretty relaxed about shrooms (but the less people know, the better), but might call 911 if they worry about crazy noises in my bedroom, bust in, and see me freaking out with no explanation.

A good safety precaution before taking any potentially incapacitating drugs--especially if you are alone--is to write the name of the drug and the dose on your arm. Your name and an emergency contact number is good too.

That’s really brilliant in a morbid sort of way.

Like you take the precautions already assuming you might lose control of yourself or not be aware enough to know your a safety risk...then for people doing harder drugs they could die from...finding a body with heroin and a dosage on it...ugh...that’s sad.

Mushrooms don't change who you are, if anything you'll feel more comfortable being quiet if you enjoy silence.

I had that exact same worry before I ever had my first trip. I too am generally a quiet person and was afraid I'd freak and do all sorts of dumb shit, I didn't, I surrendered to the experience and found I just enjoyed being my natural self.

On weed I've had those paranoid thoughts too, because I'm thinking other people notice my quietness and so I've felt uncomfortable being silent around them. If you smoke weed by yourself and don't have a problem being quiet you wont find it a problem on mushrooms.

lol, i didn't let it get to me. i just found it amusing that a comment about shrooms making people dumber and an attempted gotcha moment was really... someone not being smart enough to read my post properly. XD

at any rate, i've noticed that i don't really get very giggly on my trips, other than the first one. i did have to struggle the first time (but managed), but the second time i had a lot easier time of it, and now its not really an issue. i might find things more amusing than normal, but it's even easier to stay quiet than the first time.
