Need help with mushroom ID

I've been growing mushrooms the last few years (took a break due to other circumstances), but I've noticed a strange mass/cultivation of one (see pic). Is this an abort or some type of contaminant shrooms? I haven't seen one like this before. The cake itself is still doing well, and I haven't noticed any sort of contaminant on the cake. Any help is much appreciated.
