Okay to grow in 3 drawer plastic cart?
    #25492267 - 09/27/18 08:43 AM (2 years, 7 months ago)

Hello! I'm a relatively new grower and was wondering if this would be suitable for growing:
I plan on just mixing in the spawn, when it's cultivated, in coir and verm in all three then just misting until I see growth , will this work out do you think? Thank you

I don't see why not.

I've seen shit grown in bras, bibles and bathtubs here.

What does a 3 drawer cart look like? If you are new to this I'd advise sticking to a known tek, else you're likely to end up with poor results:thumbup:

Why not buy three monos and just stack them?

:whathesaid:

I suspect you might have issues dialling in correct FAE with that setup, given you have little experience in how things should look etc. I'd recommend starting off with simple teks before trying to run

Could I not just drill a couple holes / leave cracked open? I understand where you guys are going with doing an already existing Tek but would you recommend this or one big monotub? I thought of this so not all would get contaminated and I already have it on hand

These are on super sale sometimes, particularly after Back To School sales start to fall off.  heh, FALL off? anyone? I'll see myself out.

I think they're like $3-6 at wally world right now.

There is a certain amount of built-in FAE with these, since they don't seal.  I honestly can't see it being much off from an unmodified tub, and I'd love for Bod to weigh in.

Many hobbies use these as a base for extensive modification, like the aquarium hobby.

Saw these in home bargains the other day and since I can't go in shops now without looking at things and wondering if I can "grow in that" I did consider getting one.

Give it a go dude and post your results. If it works well I'll get one.

This probably allows adequate FAE just from imperfect fit, more could be dialed in a little at a time quite easily by pulling them further and further out... I'm actually planning on doing this after Christmas break, unmodified, just to make good use of one laying around

I've had this thought before. I bet it would work well, honestly. I use one for a nightstand. I may try some sclerotia producers or pans in mine.

I'll donate $10 to the charity of choice by the first person to show triple canopies out of one of these.

If you cracked it from the front, yeah. But a little coarse grit sandpaper might go a long way. There are also a few different models I've seen with varying cracks.

sounds like a lot more work than stacking some shoeboxes and just putting the 3 sector on wheels in question infront of the stack full of supplies to block view is trying to keep it hiddenish and not take up a ton of space. edit:though I guess it would be neat to have a bunch of shelves on wheels at waste height to roll all around lol

Yeah, you're right. But for a small, fun grow it could work. I feel like with a little tweaking you could get good BE too.
