You might think about menstrual cups if you were a woman and had to shove a piece of cotton up your snatch monthly.
Toxic shock syndrome is not that uncommon.  Silicone slides right in and out.

Why do people say "they gave up their rights"? What is doing time? Youre serving your sentence in a hellhole that is supposed to "correct" you. If that werent enough, youre supposed to not have rights after getting out, either?

Jail is too easy?

Only murderers and rapists go to jail?

Shit one traffic stop is enough to get you caught in the gears of the system for years. Just with weed. Try some conservative areas, there are plenty.

Youd pay the price for what? A plant

What are you talking about? People that get caught with drugs? How are they assholes when America has created a prison industrial complex. Prison should not be about making money. There should be no such thing as private prisons. You are more likely to be inprisoned on America for Simple drugs crime while most other first world countries would give you a fine.
Either way if the prison system wants to stop contraband they need to look at the guards. That's where most of the contraband comes from.

And in private prisons the guards only make $10-12 an hour, so who can blame them for making a little on the side.

But you are exactly right about the prison industrial complex, they have created a HUGE and powerful industry which uses its influence on our legislative system, on local, state, and federal levels, to create and change policy which puts more people in their prisons and private prisons provide NO services or rehabilitation for the people within them. They just end up fucked in the head when they get out.

There have even been instances where judges get kickbacks for sending people there, and they pour money into the political system to get politicians to pass bad policy.

PIC is one of the most horrible things about the US, if you ask me. People acknowledge it, no one really publically fights it like they do with MeToo. People really should. If there wasnt this opioid epidemic backdrop, "drugs" would be less easy to blame for death and destruction. But all that fent out there is just a *response to the drug war. Shit im sure everyone wants real diacetylmorphine back. Itd stop all these crazy ODs, especially people dead from sniffing

Cocaine is getting really big again it seems. I feel like people have traded opioids for more pure coke, with the feeling that it is much safer. Despite the insane differences between these two substances, they both kick dopamine into gear

I'm talking about asshole people involved with the whole thing. I agree with this statement as well. I've been in a judgmental mood lately, so my posts may seem a bit judgmental. I was referring to the violent crime people that want the drugs smuggled in by friends and family mainly.

Problem is felons can't vote, and even those who are just friends/family of felons are generally poor and don't vote at high rates either, and if you do anything to appear soft on crime the right goes after you hard and the centrist Democrats from the last 2 decades are OBSESSED with "swing voters" which don't actually exist, and can't seem to grasp that energizing your base to improve turnout is FAR more valuable than going after those in the middle. The vast majority of people don't vote at all, you can get way more votes by targeting those who aren't inspired to vote, than going after the tiny, tiny population of centrists who are regular voters.

Luckily we seem to be int he middle of a progressive takeover of the democratic party, hopefully they can gain enough power to actually force establishment democrats to support their agenda or their asses will be primaried out of DC.

Though the real problem is the GOP controls pretty much every state legislature and can keep gerrymandering their way to victory for all eternity, until they pass a law which outlaws gerrymandering on a partisan basis. That's what just went down in Texas, the GOP gerrymandered the state, Democrats sued saying they had disenfranchised black voters(which they had) and the GOPs defense was we didn't draw the districts that way to strip black voters of their representation we did it to strip democrats of their representation(which is perfectly legal) and the GOP won. But they used demographic maps to draw the districts, just knowing African-Americans vote democratic...

You should check out some of the maps drawn by GOP legislatures in purple states, hell even Texas and Georgia now, they are INSANE, maybe check out your home state just so you can realize how one end of a district to another has NOTHING to do with each other are on opposite sides of the state and the district is shaped like an S, I know gerrymandering has always occurred on both sides but what the GOP is doing now takes it to a whole nother level, is brazen, and is in many cases is disenfranchising the states entire minority population.

As for people DOC, it's just a cycle that keeps repeating itself, from generation to generation, people see the damage that one class of drugs make when it becomes too popular so they move onto a different class and then those who come up after them see the damage it does to them and choose a different one...just repeats, depressants, stimulants, opiates(not necessarily in that order and it alternates between the actual drugs(meth, coke, crack, heroin, painkillers, benzos, barbiturates, RCs now whatever is around that decade).

If coke gets big again then the kids coming up seeing the damage it does will just pick up something else convincing themselves that the drug they chose is different. Of course, there are also market forces involved, when the government decides to go hard after one thing those pulling the strings on the supply side move onto something else.

Only those of us lucky enough to stumble into psychedelics are able to even see all this happening around us, let alone escape it.

The drug war is the problem just as prohibition was in the 1930s...
You cannot stop drug use in a so called free society if you cannot stop it in the PIC (under full security, cameras and in some cases visitation by video only"zero outside contact") yet still the highest drug use rates in the country (prison system) As for the violence from drug crimes, it wouldnt be an issue if the criminalization was eliminated, that cuts the cost, risk and crime to maintain a habit! How much would heroin be w/o the criminal element? How much would weed be w/o the criminal element? You can grow a pot plant for about $5 in dirt/water! You can grow a field of poppies for about the same price! Cigarettes are expensive but tobacco for a carton cost about $.50  tax makes up the difference... Natural drugs  cost almost nothing, its the "risk/criminal side " that adds the cost/violence/risk whether its death or jail.
The day its all freely legal all the worlds problems end because violence and greed from war and infighting goes down the drain and sadly goverments do not want free thinking peaceful societies because its not profitable to the ELITE!
Natural drugs have a place in humanity, it was created for those purposes (health) yet we fight it for profit because corporations cannot sell us a product to heal us at a profit, if we can grow it ourselves.... legalise drugs eliminate the RCs that have wreaked havoc on society (fentanyl, meth, methadone, spice, bathsalts etc etc..)

The powers that be have used the excuse that if drugs were decriminalised then more people would be addicts and thats simply false propaganda!

It doesn't matter if its drugs gambling shopping or even eating. You will have a percentage of people that go off the rails and a percentage that do in moderation, nothing would change in a free society...
The issues come into play when Govt and big business intervene and hurt peoples livelihood by offshoring jobs and enslaving people causing misery which leads to abuse by people trying to escape and or better there lives.
As an example, who plays the lottery? $20 scratch tickets, please, its the poorest in society trying to escape that scenario... If economies and employment is strong and peoples lives are on an upward trajection then very few will try to escape reality aside from temporary pleasure "getting high"
The people running the country are keeping the population submissive for there own benefit. We as a people need to break free of the invisible enclosures we are in...

Whoever empowered the prisons to this extent is really to blame. Like literally went so far to destroy society and life/freedom for many people, turning the US into the country with the biggest incarceration rate AND an opioid epidemic

And btw, people who caught this might be aware, but purdue wants to export their opioids to other countries now, get the whole world on opi's. And its not really even arguable that purdue isnt responsible for the oxy>heroin>fent crisis. And now >bupe

These people should be treated worse than El Chapo.
They actually advertised how OCs (original oxycontin) could be crushed to break XR

They made their own generics too. Since thats what they use at hospitals and once teva made an OC80 they had to compete. They wanted the whole slice of the pie. Endo is no better, they also made generic OC, as well as Percocet AND Endocet for generics

They knew what was going on and just wanted to ride the money train till the end, then they just throw patients taking their meds under the heroin/fent bus. They prolly make fent too, havent checked.

You can thank the GOP then, and the right-wing political organizations that make it impossible for even moderate politicians residing in swing districts to stand up to them.

Any chance they get to either privatize, sabotage, or bankrupt the government they take it. Even though it has been repeatedly demonstrated that privatization of public services rarely works.

Even the Justice Department's own research shows that private prisons don't save the government a single dime. while providing substandard services, are more dangerous, and produce higher rates of recidivism. It's ridiculous when its OWN research finds this is bad policy but they keep doing it.

Even reports carried out by the state of Arizona show that private prisons can only appear to be cheaper because they are able to cherry-pick the inmates, sending everyone with health problems to public prisons.

http://nhprisonwatch.org/files/2012/08/Private-Prisons-Dont-Cost-Less.pdf

https://corrections.az.gov/sites/default/files/ars41_1609_01_biennial_comparison_report122111_e_v.pdf

https://www.brennancenter.org/blog/arizona-privatizes-prisons-despite-evidence-they-don%E2%80%99t-save-money

And now private prisons are becoming the most powerful lobbyist and driver of immigration policy, they are the ones controlling the debate and writing legislation around immigration to drive more inmates into their facilities...

https://journalistsresource.org/studies/government/criminal-justice/private-prisons-research-data-lobbying

and

"Prison Bed Profiteers:
How Corporations Are Reshaping
Criminal Justice in the U.S."

https://www.justiceacademy.org/iShare/Library-NCCD/prison-bed-profiteers.pdf

Not to mention the HUGE body of Academic work showing that private prisons cost more money, do a worse job, and are interfering with our democracy.

https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/bja/181249.pdf

https://www.brookings.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/es_20161021_private_prisons_economics.pdf

https://study.com/academy/lesson/private-vs-public-prisons-differences-statistics.html

https://news.wisc.edu/study-finds-private-prisons-keep-inmates-longer-without-reducing-future-crime/

That's just the tip of the iceberg. If you were to search academic journals you'd really find a plethora of hard, empirical evidence showing the harm prison privatization is doing to our country and those trapped within them.

Scary shit, yet no one talks about it. Heres a topic for mainstream media. Its been waiting a long time

GOP= fucking white old christian backwards motherfuckers that are doing nothing but holding progress back. Then they blame democrats. All they can do is blame. All politics/politicians are dirty of course, even bernie and ron paul. But nothing is worse than both trump and bush style GOP. Now thats obstruction. And "whataboutism" makes it seem like dems are the ones obstructing. Real Dems just dont want to give up and live in such an orwellian, fucked up society

They like to think women are all lying, all this shit.
When i think of GOP, i think of Manson's Holy Wood.

"Do you love your guns, god, the government!?"

No doubt, I mean I'm not in love with the Democratic party as a whole, especially New Democrats(who Obama identified as, while parading as a Progressive) and Blue Dogs, but I'll take incompetent "Third Way(corporatism, Bill Clinton's philosophy)" Democrats over the GOP any day of the week, what they have become and what they are doing is just plain evil.

Thankfully Elizabeth Warren is now saying she will be considering a Presidential run, after being adamant that she never would for the rest of her career.

She's not as progressive as people make her out to be but she is leaps and bounds ahead of most other options and a good deal more qualified and prepared to govern than I think Bernie Sanders was...although Bernie knew how to work the soap box, which is actually the Presidents most powerful tool, not actual policy decisions.

I imagine Kamala Harris will also be running, who I would be fine with and would probably throw my support behind(if Warren wasn't running), but I think Warren would be better when it comes to crafting policy and explaining legislative battles to the public.

And being a former AG who focused on criminal justice reform, given the topic at hand sas been the PIC, I think Harris has more expertise on that front but Warren would be stronger when it comes to economic reform. And Harris didn't exactly put up a fight when Jerry Brown expanded California's privatization of prisons, so maybe she wouldn't waste her political capital on it as President either.

Expertise or not, I don't think Warren is the type to remain silent on ANY legislative or policy battles that would come up under her time as President, political capital be damned, and she understands the importance of energizing your base rather than trying to offend as few people as possible.
